James Harden has 890 three point attempts so far this season, breaking Stephen Curry's old record of 886 attempts.

The Beard makes record breaking boring!

I mean, I'm not one to glorify simply a number of attempts at something, but Harden is actually shooting threes at 35.5%, which is damn respectable. By comparison, Steph Curry is shooting 42.6%, and Westbrook is shooting 28.2%.

Harden is also, uniquely, CREATING most of his threes. So much of that 35.5% on a record number of attempts is with a guy squarely in his face. That's kind of an important bit of additional information to provide context.

    meh

I was hoping he could beat Steph Curry’s 3 pointers made record having had to create like 90% of his threes unlike Curry while still shooting a very good 37-38%...it seemed possible about a month ago and would’ve been extremely impressive...it would’ve been another thing to add to his resume for MVP

Harden hasn’t shot over 34% from 3 in 11 of his last 12 games

I really don't think taking the most shots is something to brag about. I don't think making the most is either, unless you are taking the same amount as everyone else, and make the most.

I'm glad he slowed down on taking like 16 and 17 3's, especially with a .264 percentage since Feb 21st. We have plenty of guys to spread the ball around to who can shoot. In the playoffs a couple missed shots can be the game difference. Our team has been shooting well this last month, and Harden can rely on them instead of trying to do it all.

Numbers are good people. Since Feb 21st PJ is 32 of 66 (.485), EG 52 of 124 (.419),
    CP 30 of 79 (.380), AR 13 of 43 (.302), and James is 39 of 148 (.264). Now we have House shooting 12 of 19 (.631) in the last 4 games.

My point is this. Quantity isn't always best. James took 148 3's since Feb 21st. He made 7 more 3's than Tucker but took 82 more shots. He made 9 more than CP3 but took 69 more shots than him. Our chances our better in the playoffs if he DOESN'T take so many 3's.

Really a shame his percentage has dropped so much.

His shot just doesn't look as smooth right now. His release point seems a little off and not as straight up-and-down as it was earlier in the year. He's got to get that right and get in a rhythm over the next 3 weeks.

I agree. He was shooting better than everyone earlier this year. We need him back in a rhythm in the playoffs. The good side is that he contributes in so many other ways. We don't need him to take all the 3's to win, and we have other players shooting well that can take a few of those shots instead. Our team can do great when spreading the ball around.

His shot always falls off late in the season and never comes back in the playoffs. It’s a bit worrisome that they aren’t taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening again.

Is it possible he reaches 37-38%?
