but MDA is a company man - he doesnt make waves or go against the grain... and Morey is gonna wanna keep House's value down for the off season... when House refused to sign the peanuts contract, MDA didn't say "I hope we can work something out and get him back on the floor..." he said something along the lines of "I wish him luck in his future endeavors..."
Why are you totally projecting what you think on the subject. MDA has been always been complementary of House and he always spoke of him as being on the team never past tense. He never made a statement of luck in future endevers, just last night he spoke about how versatile he is and important to the team. Stop making stuff up to fit your narrative.
Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni on Danuel House: 'I wish him the best' Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said he wished Danuel House Jr. the best, but said he likely would not play him after the G League season is over, barring injuries to the players in the rotation at the time. House turned down an offer for a three-year, fully guaranteed minimum contract with the Rockets, wanting instead to sign for the rest of the season and become a restricted free agent. Still on a two-way deal with the Rockets but out of NBA service days, he returns to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He could be with the Rockets after the G League season is over, but would not be eligible for the playoffs while on a two-way contract. https://www.chron.com/sports/rocket...ts-Mike-D-Antoni-on-Danuel-House-13539744.php ....yeh...i'm making stuff up... smh.... I'm simply stating that Mike is gonna tow the company line... if Morey wants to limit House's minutes to keep his value down (which would be the best move financially) - then MDA is gonna comply - regardless of his personal opinion... Whether its letting Harden play instead of resting - bc thats what Harden wants... or playing (or not playing) guys to fit Morey's agenda... MDA is gonna do as he's told... sorry bout the font size... cut n paste... lol
You do know that it was House that didn't want to be locked down for 3 years, right? He's gambling that he can continue to boost his value each year, starting with this offseason, which makes sense from his perspective. But it doesn't jive with the Rockets' plans necessarily.
I read it from somewhere. House agent wants full MLE (5.5M) for next year, can be negotiated for 3-year.
Knicks would give House 3-year 29 million (MLE)after signing Durant and Irving. House is a big shooting guard. House's parents love Dolan more than Tilman. joke: Knicks fans said they had traded KP for Zion, Durant and Irving.
He has the confidence, the athleticism, the height and the shot making ability - he is potentially a very good starter.....IMHO. DD
It's both ways. House did not want to be locked down for 3 years on the minimum salary. Morey did not want to lock him up for more than the minimum. Pretty sure if Morey raised the amount, House would consider. But signing him for too much would be risky. House is unproven. Who knows if his performance so far is just a flash in the pan. It could turn out to be a mini-Ryno situation down the road. House not signing the 3-year min deal is also taking a risk. He is probably in a perfectly fit system. He might not be able to duplicate what he is doing elsewhere. And how many teams would be willing to sign him to a fat long term contract? So it's pretty much a poker game. We'll know who is making a mistake a year or two from now.
That is cheap. Morey has to figure out how to keep house rivers and faried imo. Shumpart can go although I’d assume since we have his bird rights that he is the easiest to retain. I think we need rivers more than faried although I want him on this team. But if we don’t use him as backup PF his role is greatly diminished. There’s guys that can be Clint’s backup and faried will to expensive for just 12 min a night. Rivers is must because of cp3 health and he’s legit can play PG and SG while defending both positions at a pretty reliable level.
Sometimes it is hard to do. Some crazy GMs offer more money to role players than Morey. Houston is the 2nd largest city in the west, but small market owners offer more money than Tilman.
