Saw it yesterday. 5.75/10 Meh movie for me. I like her powers and expect her to be good in Endgame, but the film as a whole was underwhelming.
I think I tried to shut my brain off too much while watching the movie due to all the criticism before...but he brings up a lot of things that confused me as well. There was just so much unnecessary crap and disorganization in the movie. It’s just really disappointing considering how amazing Infinity War and Into the Spiderverse were. Oh well let’s hope for a miracle from Endgame!
i don't expect solo movies to effect the team-up movies. marvel has made some really bad solo movies over the years too: iron man 2-3, capt 1, thor 1-2, hulk 1. and assuming endgame is lit af, that means they would have gone 3 of 4, with ultron's age being the bad one.
It was a good movie. Not the best Marvel movie but definitely not the worst. It was a bit clunky, some of the dialogue didn't make sense and it felt like they tried to improvise a lot of the scenes, which didn't really work. The special effects were good for the most part, at times it felt very Matrix Reloaded-ish. They did a really good job making Samuel L. Jackson look younger though.
It just wasn’t a very good movie. Compared to most of the Avenger movies it felt B-grade at best. They made Fury look like a doofus for most of the movie. He was all infatuated with this cat and then to lose his eye the way he did was just rediculous. I watched Aquaman and thought it was B-grade but then most DC movies are B-grade since the last Batman trilogy (which was great). Capt Marvel was worse. This was the worst of all the avenger movies. A movie about the Black Widow would have been so much better.
https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/movies/g13441903/all-marvel-cinematic-universe-movies-ranked/ This is a really fair assessment of the MCU.
Let me guess, you didn't watch Black Panther either? But not the bottom half? That doesn't even make sense dude.
Black Panther was ok, I saw it twice thinking I would enjoy it more the 2nd time, didn't really change my mind. Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man are still my top favorite MCU films. I would put Spider-Man and Avengers over Black Panther as well.
I can disagree with the order of the top half lol But giving it a second look, yea the whole list except the bottom 2 or 3 movies is ****.
If you can't see the man-hating (particularly white man-hating) in Larson's comments, and then in this movie.........
Paying twice for an ok movie is an interesting tactic. I’m sure the black panther ranking has at least a little to do with box office success but it’s definitely on the podium for anyone who doesn’t have an ax to grind. I think the full-fledged avengers movies kinda require their own list, which is to include civil war as that was anything but a captain America solo movie. It’s kinda hard to argue against the biggest movies that deliver the most goods...I think that’s my only beef with the list. But black panther had one of the best villains in the mcu, a great origin story and an excellent cast. Iron man is probably my favorite solo movie of the mcu as well.
Civil War Infinity War Winter Soldier Avengers Thor Rag Black Panther Iron Man 1 Top 7 for me, black panther is not number one at all but it is top 5-10
Black Panther is ok for me, not great. I don't have any axe, I just did not enjoy it. When you said "biggest movies that deliver the most goods" , I am guessing you meant box office gross? Then Black panther is below Infinity Wars, The Avengers and Age of Ultron. 4th is off the podium, right? https://www.imdb.com/list/ls026442468/
