Can’t lie I’m pretty conflicted about this. One I don’t like my boy Morey getting handled like this. If House actually plays he might play himself out of an extension since we don’t have bird rights I officially hate two contracts now. I am pretty hyped about our stupid amount of depth.
House got what he wanted - the ability to be a free agent this summer. He'll be a restricted FA, but we'd have to dip into the MLE to match any offer >$2 MM. Will be very tough to retain him, Rivers, and Faried this summer, but glad to have him for this year's playoff push. Our depth is pretty incredible with House back in the fold: Capela/Faried/Nene PJ/House Gordon/Green Harden/Shumpert Paul/Rivers With Shumpert and Nene as situational players, depending on matchups and defensive need.
Faried, Rivers, Green and House were mid-season free agent signings that could end up giving the Rockets their best depth in years.
actually not. I and along with a few others saw this as the end result anyway. Im glad hes back for depth purposes. morey's track record is well known enough to know he can make smart decisions. he wasn't going to get a bigger final offer from morey, which he didn't. anyone who thinks morey somehow lost in this situation, doesn't fully understand what was actually going on
Morey was most likely well aware that this was exactly how this was going to play out. I don't see where he got "handled"? He set his sights very high, and settled on the compromised outcome. It's just business.
I'm all for this signing, because it will bring the number of Danuel House threads in here down by probably 50%. Now, who is this guy again, and what sport does he play?

I'm pretty hyped. Lets win the thing this year baby... worry about the long-term later... a title will make me feel good for 10+ years anyway.
Sucks no worthwhile buy out free agents were out there to spend the rest of the MLE. Still, good to have House back. He'll have at least 12 games to gel with the team, too. Interesting to see if EJ goes back to the bench (doubtful), and how the minutes between Green/Iman/House will be distributed.
