cat always throws some bonehead balls, when Rox has a few points lead. It seems that he wants to make sure his points per game up to his average. I never liked him. TRADE HIM!
some people here think cat's the most consistent rockets so far...it was like a fad a couple of months a go...cheering for yao and steve was not in fashion, so cat got a lot of support, although i think he is the same player after five years...streaky, tier II, shooting guard
I'd rather trade you for a big, smelly, steaming pile of cow ****. Unfortunately, that stuff has a market as some kind of fertilizer or something......so I doubt I'll get any takers.
Everyone is so quick to pull the trigger on a trade. I don't get it. The Rockets are not that good. The expectations from this BBS are way too high. A team to reach contender status, it must first find a combination to work with. Rockets are still piecing together the puzzle. They have yet to lock their starting 5, stick with a plan, and run it. Did you ever think Cato would start on this squad???? Rockets are not re-building but they are not contenders. Please stop bashing them thinking they should win the championship. Now if you want to talk about under-acheivers, look at the Blazers or the Nets (atleast in the eastern conference). Both clubs have gone through major problems and change. We should be glad that we haven't had any major injuries or anything. As for Eddie Griffin, well, it's not like he went to another team and is now a rocket-killer. Listen to me, be sensible and be patient. New coach, a new system. Trading anyone will not suddenly improve the team. THIS IS NOT NBA LIVE 2004 or any game. You can't just trade and look at number difference. As for Steve Francis and recent comments and actions. Francis is still a kid. The maturity level is obviously undeveloped. But you have to understand what he's going through. This is the worst season of his career. Unlike most of the fans, he is only BEGINNING to see that Yao is the future of the franchise. He's testing the rockets to see if his defiance will get him anywhere. Once rockets threaten him to settle down or else, he will step into line. Final thing......please start acting like fans. This crap about trade him or fire him and pointing fingers. It's not the end of the world and trust me, we won't get through the first round of playoff for 2-3 more years. Hell I wouldn't even be suprised if we didnt make the playoffs. Just be patient and have a little faith.
I'm ready to murder myself with all of these "Trade Cat" BS threads. The guy has done nothing but good for the Rox. He's adapted into JVG's system and has matured greatly. And like others have said, he's been the most consistent player on the team this season. Give me a damn break. This team would struggle even more without Cat. COd
I was getting tired of all the whiney trade Yao, trade Steve threads, thanks for starting something different.
Uh, let's see... This is from the Chronicle: By the numbers The Rockets' 35 points in the fourth quarter were their most in a quarter this season. ... The Rockets outrebounded the Hawks 40-38, breaking a string of four games in which they had been outrebounded. ... Cuttino Mobley had a season-high four steals to go with three blocked shots. ... Yao Ming's seven points were his fewest since Jan. 13 and his third-fewest this season. ... Steve Francis made 10 of 12 free throws, his fourth game with at least 10 free throws this season. Did you know? The Rockets' comeback was their fourth-largest in the fourth quarter. Their largest comeback also was in Atlanta. They rallied from a 23-point second-quarter deficit in March 2001. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2392943 Three blocked shots by Cat. Not Yao or Cato as you might expect... amazing. Four steals isn't too shabby either.
Worst thread of the night nominee. Congratulations thunder_james. You are now in the group known as "ignore".
Man.. i love the cat (as a player that is..) .. i dont know why we have so much Cuttino haters on wanting to trade him... he may be crazy... yes.... but he is just as crazy as wanting to succeed.
The one on DD at the end was SWEEEET. He swatted it into the fourth row and he was in the lane when Dickau caught the ball beyond the arc. He has got to be 10' away when the ball is released and it is about 12-13' in the air when he gets it.
