wish me luck...i am so damn scared of failing this thing even though i have been studying a lot for it. i've got to drive down to san antonio to take it too since the testing center here in austin is in the process of moving and won't be open till the 19th. 6 hours of testing and 3 hours of driving...WOOHOO! my friend got an 85% on it and the lady at the test center was like "thats the highest score i've seen in a long time" and she said no one has ever got over a 90% on it. all i need is a 70% to pass, but man...i am so scared that i am gonna blow it and get like a freaking 69% and it will suck so bad. you find out your score right after you take the test so at least there will be no suspense, but if i fail it will be a long drive back to austin. after this i have the series 63 on monday and i have to drive back to SA...again. maybe i should go egg the SBC center while i'm down there...just an idea. then after that i have the series 55 on the 23rd and then i start my job....but all that hinges on my passing the 7. ok well im outta here....cyall later
Good luck robbie380. I just barely passed my series 7 last week. I presume you've been using study material from STC and if you are getting around 85% on your practice test then you will do fine. Do you work there by any chance? Because this is where I'll be starting when I'm done with the 66.
Good Luck but here's a little caveat my Landscape Architecture prof left me with: Passing a licensing tests only means that you are at least minimally competent. I hope you pass and understand that you need a some experience before you are actually knowledgeable.
well i passed with an 80...i felt like i failed it, but i passed. 1 down...2 to go. series 63 and 55 left. lets see for A Train...check out EMRG...if you like it then go for it...if you think i am crazy then just say robbie you are crazy. its the only one i am long on right now. should be a big gainer in the coming months. there are tons of other ones...always opportunity in the market....thats why i love it!!! kingcheetah...its for zonetrading. basically they are a trading company who has about 50 or so traders. my friend is already starting there. this is his first week. he said that like 80+% of the people there are scalpers on the NYSE. he said that zone accounts for .5% of the daily vol of the NYSE...pretty amazing to me. he was showing me like the recap sheet from last month and one dude made like 33,000 trades!! most of the guys there made like around 10000 trades ....anyhow...i don't know anything about scalping but i'm going to learn it. i have mostly learned position/swing trading/day trading and chart reading, but not scalping. for those who don't know what scalping, like me up until about a month ago, is it is a very low risk, fast paced type of day trading that you need very fast trade executions and relatively large amounts of equity to make money off of market ineffeciencies. basically, you buy a stock at a price from one person and immediately sell it at a higher price to another person. it's free money if you can learn how to do it. the real shady...yeah i had been busting my ass studying for it. the 2nd part of the test seemed a hell of a lot harder to me than the first and i thought i was gonna get like a 68 on it or something. so glad its over. gene peterson...yup...you're dead right. i've been teaching myself what i need to know to succeed at this job for the past 9 months or so now. this licensing does me no good whatsoever on the job, except for the fact that it allows me to work there. i can't wait till this crap is over. what they do at zonetrading is completely different than what i have learned, but everything with stock trading still operates on the same principle....controlling yourself and your emotions. i still have a long way to go in that aspect, and it's something that you can only learn by the experience of losing and getting beat down. but i'm pretty pumped up about learning more stuff at zone and having access to all these resources that they have there. thanks for the replies guys
one quick thing about those trade....i think i may be getting the number of trades mixed up with the money....i forget...but i remember it was like 250,000 trades total. either way...they made a ton of trades
