This is where you are wrong. The media can be the most effective disciplinary technique. You cant have a concert without an audience.

Which is why the city of HOUSTON is the greatest Sports City in the enitre Nation. NOT !!! Think Yankees, Knicks, Mets and the Rangers. In terms of Prestige&Enigma, Houston isnt anywhere near the level of NYC. Lets face it, the Rockets suck and so do their fans.

SF NEEDs to Go. I'm sick and tired of watching boring & bonehead basketball. He's holding back this team. Just look at this way. The sooner he's gone, the sooner we can have training camp. We'll have a head start for the 04-05 season.

    This is really quite simple:

Alot of you out there seem to think that Steve's comment of "God knows how long" was said while he ws frowing with an expression of hopelessness and frustration, while others think it is just his way of saying he'll be here for a while.

I agree with the latter, that was just Steve's way of saying that they'll BOTH be there for awhile and will play together.

Just put up a poll and let everyone vote on it.

Don't blow his comments out of the water.

What's your reasoning for this comment?

"It's never going to be over as far as an endpoint," Francis said at Thursday's practice. "He's going to coach the way he wants to coach, and I'm going to play the way I want to play. There's always going to be conflict.

A guy that supposedly, according to some here, has made so many sacrifices to his game for the team makes a comment like that.

my analogy was not wrong...i never said you HAD to trade the star player...i said sometimes you do...sometimes the star player is pulling in a different direction, and a leader who is trying to get the bus going has to kick him off. that's it. you drew the hakeem analogy out...which was a different circumstance entirely (particularly since the underlying facts were in question)

here there is zero question...francis is flat out saying, "i'll play the way i want to play."...and he's showing that. he has shown that.

You got it wrong, buddy. Dream had problems with upper management, but he did not like Rudy in the begining as well. Remember when Dream called Rudy a "coward" on media day before the 92-93 season. He proceeded to have the best two seasons of his career afterwards. Hopefully same happens with Stevie.

No Francis is having a sub-par season because he's trying to be the point guard JVG wants. Question, since JVG has no problem b****ing in public, has he ever complained about Steve not buying into his system. No, that's just a perception of yours.

I don't remember all of this support for JVG when he was basically benching Yao when he stunk it up a few weeks ago. Some of these same voices were saying that JVG should be more supportive of Yao and take his feelings into consideration. And I think some of the same people that are so pro-airing your laundry in the media would have a different tune is JVG said to the press one day, Yao is really playing badly right now - he needs to be a man.

Those same people would be b****ing about embarassing Yao in public.

pgabriel -- he's flat out saying it!!! i'll readily admit that he's tried to do a better job of getting yao the ball..but his FG% sucks.

i can live with that, though. i could chalk that up to mere adjustment to a new coach. what i can't live with is a player who thinks he's bigger than his team and his coach...who lies to the media to make his coach look bad and to try to cover his ass...who says "i'll play how i want to play." i'd rather do without all that, his talent notwithstanding.

Steve needs to prove it on the court like the problem child that AI, Marburry, Rasheed, and Artest. The truth is he is not as good.

For those people still rooting for steve in this case, please, please, please stop finding excuses for Steve or defending Steve by attacking JVG.

It's simply wrong! Some people are just not used to lying. JVG did exactly what he should do, telling the truth. He could have found other excuses to cover Steve, but he could not afford to lie to the media and to his TEAM.

He knows once Steve got away with it this time, he will lose control of the team! And once he started lying, he will lose his creditablity to his team.

It's going to be interesting what Francis has to say once (if) he's traded...You know he'll say what he really feels then.

And what will follow will be a deception. The other team will have temporary success. And some here will say, "See, he's having a great year! We shouldn't have traded him!"

All you have to do is remember: 20/6/6 AND 3.7 TO!

The sad part. Is that some other team might have a BIG PG, use SF at the SG spot, and actually make that work....that's what I don't want.

Prior to the 02-03... Yao was a 4 year project. Better yet, "Yao will be a BUST, the next Larue Martin".

We went from "BIG project" to "Must Dominate" in under 2 seasons. Remember Yao is still in the days of development. I dont think he even knows how read and write in English. Give Yao another season or so...before we decide to trade him for Greg Osterag.

Francis is an entirely different story. Freaken guy has been here bout 5 seasons and still doesnt know the meaning of "Sacrafice". He still insists on playing the same way. The way of the Lottery. Its about me, me and me.

LMAO... the first problem is giving him the title "Franchise". Maybe he could be the "Franchise" of the Wizards, Bulls, Hawks, etc. but NOT US.

Well, the way I see it is.... He tries to play the JVG way, and his numbers has suffered. But in reallity he wants to play his way -- maybe because the numbers would *look* better, although the team would win less -- it's like he's just going through the motions (in JVG system), rather than actually putting his heart into it.

Putting ones heart into something is important. And SF just wont do that.

Not sure if you are joking or not...but you know that JVG has already given Francis this book pretty much when JVG started here, right?

jvg is a ass, he acts like an ******* towards his players. all ya'll talking bout trading steve, please. the rockets aint sh*t without him! i hope he does get traded somewhere where he is appreciated, cause houston shows him no love. i dont know how some of you people call yourselves "fans", once a player makes a mistake your quick turn your back on them. thats not being a fan, your suppose to support the players through the good and the bad.
