Kenneth “Shawn Marion” Faried. Obviously he won’t keep up this shooting... But it’s the NBA. The encouraging thing is he looks good doing it in terms of form and is only taking it when wide open. And in this system he will have open looks. It’s crazy that if he keeps up this pace it will basically be the best 40 game stretch of basketball statistically in his career.
PJ’s 3rd quarter performance was about as outstanding of one I’ve seen from him. His defense, energy, and hustle was incredible. I really like the front court combo of him, Capela, and Faried. Impressive for sure.
I was really impressed with the Rockets lockdown D. They had some plays that really stagnated the Worriers offense.
I made a thread asking what role Faried would play once Capela came back and there were many posters who said he basically wouldn’t have one. They basically posited that playing him at the 4 was nonsense. I think if he can just prove to be even a slight threat from 3, he’s a mismatch problem. Helps with rebounding too.
F it. I’m liking every post with Faried or Manimal in it!! I propose @Williamson dump the Shump and become a straight FOF
This thread needs to be bumped! Having Varied at the 4 solves our size problem. Forget about his 20 points yesterday. Even if Faried only scores 10 a game, but gets us 9 to 10 rebounds with plenty of hustle and energy, he will make us a much better overall team. MDA needs to talk to Gordon and ask him to come off the bench, for tactical reasons. Capela at the 5. Faried at the 4. Tank at the 3. MVP at the 2. CPGawd at the 1. Let's try this for a few games. I'll be absolutely shocked if this is not a dynamite starting lineup!
Moving Faried to the 4 also lets him be Faried. He plays vs a smaller guy and is able to play with more energy
this, even if he doesn't hit the 3 at high percentage they cant leave him wide open because in 2 dribbles hes at the rim and very dangerous finishing around the rim
LOL, we've seen enough game samples with 3 guards starting to know that wasn't so great. I'd much rather see us starting Faried, Tucker, and Clint.
In 14 games with the Rockets, Faried is averaging career highs in: mp (29.5) pts (16.0) rbs (9.9) FG% (.609) 3PT% (.455) FTA (4.1) PER (23.0) TS% (.634)
Sign House back and bring Tucker of the bench as a utility player House 30 Faried 30 Capela 30 Tucker 30 Nene/Jones/Shumpert/Green - 24
If Kenneth can launch 2 3s per game when wide open and hit them at a 35%+ rate then I'd move him to the starting 4, he'd still play some 5 when Clint sits tho.
