When healthy we are better than them. We’re definitely better than our record shows and we haven’t been at 100% all year and we aren’t 100% now.

If we go into the playoffs with a full roster we aren’t losing to Portland.

Judging by you basing beliefs off of one-off games. What have Portland done at Oracle arena?

Because we just won there without the best player in the world.

Yup we are the only team that can still beat them 4 times in a series. Other teams maybe 1 or 2 but I still feel we match up well against them if we have everyone healthy and we are playing the right way.

True. Honestly this year our biggest threat might be OKC in the West.

CP3 showed again why it takes two elite ball handlers to beat GS (4 out of 7). No one wants to acknowledge how springy and quick he looks lately, but i have taken notice. I know it is unpopular to praise CP around here lately, but he was fantastic tonight. That was all star level play.

Props to MDA as well. I hope he keeps PJ at the 3 as well. He can be our new Ariza sort of speak. Shump has to get healthy for quality depth purposes, but i will allow my self to believe again. We do matchup well against GS.

Manimal has become our wildcard. IF the offense can remain efficient with him on the court with Clint, then I like our chances a whole lot more.

Being able to start Manimal at the 4 changes quite a few things, including the future outlook of our roster.

man you guys have to stop with the warrior talk as if they are the only team in the NBA. worry about even getting out of the first round. idk why you guys still think the rockets are just far and away better than everyone else like the warriors are simply the only team with a chance of beating us.

I think we all agree that this was a very important victory. But, again, we again missed a 20-point lead.
It is a recurrent problem that we can not find a solution for.
I am very happy for the great victory, but very worried about mistakes that we keep repeating.

I agree about PJ. When Ariza was here it made sense for him to play 4/5. But now we really need him out there defending on the wing more. Good post!

At this point the only thing I am certain of about this team is that we have the warriors number.

Everything else is a total mind f*** this season.

I haven’t check, but my suspicion is big leads are less safe this season than last due to reduced shot clock and every team seems to have picked up the 3 is better than 2. Quicker pace and more 3 makes scores more volatile.

No capela ... so of course we aren’t gonna beat a team with one of the best centers in the nba . Healthy rockets are scary.. just wait till we have a bigger sample size with a full roster . I like this roster better than last years when we are at full strength

The style of up-tempo offensive combined with a bad defense makes the advantages disappear in a sigh.
The fact that our defense is less effective exposes us much more to losing these leads.
When these advantages are achieved, MDA should sacrifice a little up-tempo offense and control the clock better.
    A simple opinion.

The game last night altered my opinion to "maybe." Did not see that one coming.

And be a bit more selective with your offense. Try a few 2 here and there to stop the bleeding, and try less of the quick defender in your face step back 3 (IOW, play hard and smart). But again, even if your defense is the same as last year, I think just the changes of taking more 3 and shortened shot clock is going to allow more comeback.

Here is some interesting stats. This is only games to 1/6/18, but it gives you an idea. Bold are teams that allow opponent to come back 3 or more times when holding a large lead (16 or more).

    https://www.libertyballers.com/2019/1/6/18169356/blown-leads-comebacks-close-games-nba

HOU: Of games they lead by 16 or more (16), 3 of them came down to within 5 points in the last 5 min. They won 13 of those 16.

PHI: Of games they lead by 16 or more (20), 7 of them came down to within 5 points in the last 5 min. They won 18 of those 20.

Game lead by 16 or more, # of games came down to within 5 points in last 5 mins, Win/Total

HOU: 16, 3, 13/16 (if my memory serve me right, since 1/6/19, you can 3 more close game to this with 2 more loss, which would be 19, 6, 14/19 -- yea, not too good, especially when considering that of the 6 comebacks, HOU lost 5 of them!!)

    PHI: 20, 7, 18/20

    POR: 12, 1, 12/12

    UTA: 15, 2, 13/15

    SAS: 16, 1, 15/16

    TOR: 21, 2, 20/21

    OKC: 19, 1, 18/19

    MIL: 20, 2, 19/20

    LAC: 12, 2, 12/12

    DEN: 13, 4, 12/13

    GSW: 19, 3, 18/19

    BOS: 14, 1, 13/14

    CHA: 16, 5, 14/16
