Im watching the Sea./ SA game and Doug Collins and Harlan were talking about how Brent wants a 4 yr deal and Seattle wants to give him only a 2 yr deal....so now there up against the clock with the trade deadline coming....so I was thinking---why coulndt we swing a cat, and wilks (or padgett) for barry and another bencher.....hes one of the best, if not the best from 3 land and he could get the ball inside, and switch with steve on D since hes bigger (like iverson and snow)....allen would move back to the one with sea. and cat could def. play the two since their offense is wide open...seems like a good fit?

Keep Mobley, get rid of Francis.

    Not for Barry though.

Brent Barry is a perfect role player that a lot of teams would love to have. However, he's looking for a 4 year deal worth around 25 millions and he's 33 years old. Besides, he's injured and will be out for a while.

    So no thanks.

Man, that is sad. Adrian Griffin got in a game before Pike did. Is this just another all-too-typical Houston FA fiasco?

I expected solid contribution from him.

we can get him in the offseason, if reasonable. Not exactly a top 7 point guard, but he can hit the 3 ball and run the break, which is good....He would make a good backcourt w/ mobes JUST in case we get another front court player for Francis.:p

NVE wants to opt out of his contract to join a texas team. barry will be a FA. thre are some other point guards out there too. we will be able to use some of the cap exceptions to bring one in.

Unless NVE has changed his mind in the last two days, that is a false statement. Here is a direct quote from ESPN just 2 days ago:

"Van Exel thus has only one season of guaranteed money left on his contract after this season. He has an option to terminate the contract this summer and become a free agent but admits that he probably can't afford to opt out, saying, "I gave up a lot of money already"."

    1. Where would Cat fit in on a team with Ray Allen and Flip Murray? McMillan's been fairly public about the fact that the team is top-heavy with jump shooters.

    2. Seattle won't trade Barry w/o one of their 3 dead weight big men (Potapenko, James, Booth) being part of the deal.
