Mandalay bay was nice, but personally I prefer the Venetian. As for places to eat, I liked Red Square for steaks. Shanghai Lilly for Japanese And China Grill for chinese Click Here to see a list of dining choices. Have fun, and take the house for some Mulah !! DD
I might have to check out some of those places. I'm heading to Las Vegas this weekend for a Bachelor Party. We're staying at the Bellagio Hotel, which should be fun. Hope I can walk away with 8k too!!!
The Mandalay Bay has a $26 buffet that is out of this world. It is called the Bay Side Buffet and you should at least save one meal for this place because it was the best stuff ever. I happened to skip lunch and just have an early dinner that day, so I was extra hungry and got more than my monies worth. The House of Blues is also inside the hotel near the back of the casino area, and that is always a less expensive option for dining. The Mandalay Bay Hotel is an incredible hotel with lots of things to do. You will have a great time!
Guys, Thanks for the replys. My wife and I had a great time. We actually spent the first few days in Phoenix at this resort called the Phoenician. Man it is a five star hotel and we had an executive suite which was out of this world. The backdrop of the hotel is the famous Camelback Mountains. Our suite consisted of two full rooms (approximately 1500 square feet). The living room had a 60 inch Plasma with a huge patio and full bathroom including a garden tub. The second room was the bedroom, it also had a smaller plasma TV with a large Patio and full bath with garden tub. It was the nicest hotel room I have ever been in. Wow!!! Than on Saturday we flew into Las Vegas. We stayed at "The Hotel" at Mandalay Bay. This is the new tower of Mandalay Bay and is much more upscale. Very modern contemporary design from furniture to the carpet. Very classy which is just what I like. I was not disappointed. I believe each room in the new towers is a suite. The rooms were very elegant and each room had a tv (the living room had a Plasma), the bedroom had a regular TV and even the huge bathroom had a small flatscreen tv. We ended up eating at the buffet at the Mandalay Bay. It was nice. We saw Celine Dion that night. Wow, what an incredible venue and what a breathtaking show. Visually delightful and wow can Celine sing!!! The next day we walked most of the strip. We ate at the MGM Grand buffet. It was ok. Each of the buffets were about $22 per person. Not $60 like someone had mentioned earlier. Later that night we saw Cirque De Solel "O" at the Bellagio. This was an incredible show. The water stage that transformed from water to solid platform for the artists to perform was amazing. The actors were also great. I had to saw I think we saw the two best shows in Vegas. Later that night we ate at the Bellagio Cafe and it was great. My wife ordered the French Onion soup which was incredible (and I normally do not like French Onion soup). I had the Beef Steak Sandwich which was also incredible. I think I am going to be staying at the Bellagio my next trip to Vegas!!! Well had a great weekend but it is nice to be back home in Fort Lauderdale and back to work and reality tomorrow.
We always stay at Bellagio. Didn't go last year, though. The Chihuly glass on the lobby ceiling is stunning. Be sure to get a fountain view room. It's well worth the extra $. Won $4k on the $5 slots in the first 20 minutes there. Won $2k ($1999 so they avoid the tax form) the next day; gave back $2.5k, so ended up nice. The Bellagio restaurants are pretty good. The cafe (by all of the flowers, off the lobby) can be surprisingly good on some dishes. We had pastrami on one trip that competed with the best of New York (they don't have it any more). The Chinese Restaurant (Jasmine?) by the water show is very good but overpriced (but cannot beat the water show out the windows at night). The buffet is also very good; be sure to get the player's card and check your points before eating...they'll probably comp your buffets. Circo was disappointing, but we haven't eaten there in a couple years. Olives is ok. Le Cirque was quite good. The best restaurant in Las Vegas, Chins, is no more.
The Phoenician is well known. I like the location, but was disappointed in the service at the hotel. Certainly not 5-star. The pools and golf course were great. It seemed like I had the entire golf course to myself.
