    keep your pants on hoss....
dont count your chickens before they hatch...

    etc etc..

the writing isnt on the wall except to those of you who want to see it..maybe you are the one who wrote it there...

    who knows..

logic doesnt dictate that they lose value by making a move now..
and trust me...if they try to unload SF now....we WILL lose value.

I don't know. There's a good chance our boy at ESPN pulled that one out of his butt.

Still, the worst we have heard from Yao in public is that Steve and Cat have clearly not played with a halfway-decent center before and have to get used to it.

So the thing is, Yao should be thinking these things. So many other players make team play seem almost effortless while our guards make it a chore.

I was watching the Fakers-Cavs and the Cavs were pulling the same things that the Rockets do----getting a big lead then taking a nap at the end of quarters. (Well, it was like a 10point lead, but that's a big lead for the Cavs over the Lakers.)

And that's what our guards still do, with 4.5 and 5.5 years in the league.

I believe that the team and most importantly the point guard should be reflective of the coach. Look at Jim O'Brien. He quit because the character of the team had changed, and he didn't want it to change. Van Gundy quit the Knicks in part due to roster decisions that he did not approve of. Van Gundy isn't going to quit this time because the GM of the Rockets is basically just going to rubberstamp any and all of Van Gundy's roster decisions. I think everyone is up for trade if the offer is right.

    RR...

I don't know if this is legit or not, but if it is, how does it translate to Yao trying to get rid of his competition for The Man?

He has not asked for anything to happen, even according to this report. It is merely that he no longer ( contrary to what he once said repeatedly) would be crushed if Steve and Cat were moved. There is a big difference.

Besides, if there's a competition for the role of The Man, here's a question: why is Stevie still competing? Hasn't the coach said who is? What possible good can come of Steve trying toh old on to the role designated for antoher? As Napoleon said, better one bad general than two good ones.

    :D

That sums it up and that is why it is so easy for Stein to fill his column...he just throws something out there that nobody can ever disprove...

The point is Yao and Steve don't have good chemistry together, which is already blatantly obvious.

Pasox2 will be delighted if Steve and Cat are gone.

I can't understand you sunshine bottom apologists. Here's a clique that keeps letting you down and you keep trying to love them. That's seriously dysfunctional. It's like asking your pornstar girlfriend to stop doing other guys. She ain't stoppin.

I totally agree. Steve won’t have any chemistry with another star/super star player in the same team. Yao will be gone in 2 years if Steve stays in Rockets.

I dunno. Have you ever listened to Steve? He always praises Yao, and when he was miked for one of the games, he was cheering Yao on all the time, and asked him to demand the ball more.

When Yao first joined the Rockets, he use to pick him up in his Hummer all the time for practice. This is just an analyst pulling one out of the dark. Heck, they say the same thing about kobe and shaq almost every year. It's complete bs.

Steve's going no where! He bullied the heck out of TJ last night. It was great to watch, eventhough I love TJ from my UT days. :)

First of all, this is entirely based on his speculation. Secondly, ESPN has no credibility.

I do not know if this is factual information, but what I do know is that it does not have to come directly from Yao Ming's mouth for it to be true. It could be pure speculation, but there are also a number of sources close to Yao that it might have come from as well. It wasn't the deciding factor in Phoenix that got Marbury moved, but what I heard was that Stoudemire's mother was complaining to Suns' management that her son Amare was not getting the ball enough from Stephon. This may or may not be true, but it is not at all out of the realm of possibility.

But regardless of all that and regardless of how he finishes the season, Steve is still going to be traded. He has shown his true character and the management, coaching staff, and players do not forget things of that nature. From this point on, everything that follows is damage control.

Not to be overly critical, but it seemed to me as though Stevie was very cognizant that he was being mic'd that game and simply played up to the camera to show people that he wasn't the selfish player people pegged him to be. It just struck me as a bit contrived "Hey Yao, take more shots. You can take him." Convenient.

I think Yao should go to the Spurs if he wants to win championship rings. Rasho Nestorerovic is not cutting it in San Antonio, and there is a whole lot of cap space available to the Spurs after the 2006 season because San Antonio's payroll is much more efficient than Houston's. The guy who makes the most money is Duncan, and he is definitely better than the guy Houston has as the leader. Yao just needs to sit tight on this team. He'll get his rings, but I just don't think it'll be on this team. I'm a Rockets fan, but I am realistic. Does anyone truly believe the team is ever going to led to a championship with Steve taking up 20% of the payroll and not even being the best point guard in the West?

Rasho Nestorovich certainly looked like he was cutting it when he shut down Yao in consecutive games a few months back....

A game or two means nothing. In last season's home game against Indiana, Brad Miller made a fool of himself, crashing into O'neal before clubbering Yao in a play. Yao almost had another season high. Can we say Miller will always be Yao's bit*h?
