I don't know what they think about the streak. But I know Harden taking 22 3pt shots is not a good thing.

I'd be somewhat inclined to agree, if we had at least one player not named Harden who we could rely on every night.

    Unfortunately, we don't.

If it ends naturally like you expect it to, with Harden choosing to get others involved rather than shoot a bunch and miss a bunch, great! I was simply describing a scenario I would not want to see. It would be a bad look both for him individually, and also for the team.

Has anyone noticed that Harden is having a 29 games streak of taking more than 10 3s?

The beauty of playing as a team is you don’t need one other player you can rely on each night. When we were at our best last year, winning 66 games, we didn’t have that and it was fine.

    We had defense last year.

    And defensive rebounding.

    And a competent Chris Paul.

We have precisely zero of those this year which contributes a lot more than Harden taking more shots than PJ Tucker or Gerald Green

Disclaimer: I'd love nothing more than a new coach to come on board who actively got our guys moving off the ball for easy buckets so one player doesn't shoot that many 3s.

I didn't realize the streak was responsible for our shitty defense.

At this point in time last year, that team had a get **** done mentality. There was slips but they were so locked in that they got on each other right then and right there and didn't care if it was in front of everyone.

Getting to the point where the whole team is like that is special. I think everyone knows they aren't there, but I hope the team isn't arrogant enough to think they can turn that on a month before playoffs start.

Harden doesn't need followers. He needs help when it counts the most.

I swear if I get flashbacks of two or three years ago where scrub teammates puss out, don't take smart shots, and hides while James does everything before he melts down, I'll be ******** at Landrys every moment I see it

He was 8/19 (42 percent) at one point

The last ones were desperation. One came in the final second of the game instead of dribbling out the last second. Quit distorting facts.

Stupid thread. Without Harden scoring 30+ points and absorbing all of the attention night in and night out, this team would b blown out b/c of the incompetence of everyone else on offense.

I think Harden stops caring after one more game. That's when he locks in the #2 spot.

Our record during the streak is far superior to before it and the run of games includes our most injured stretch.

Also think it’s unfair to say he’s seriously, seriously chasing it. It was 10000000% clear he was content to let it end last game until he drained a few shots at the end and then said **** it when he was only 1-2 shots away.

Also, as long as his efficiency stays elite why slow it down? I’d totally get it if he was consistently dipping below his 60+ TS, but it’s not happening.

It’s not mvp worthy what’s going on right now and MDA is partly responsible!

Yes, and I have also noticed far too many games where he took 16 or more. The records don't mean anything when you take way more shots than everyone else. Taking 34 shots doesn't win games. I am so glad I didn't watch the game. 22 3's is a one man show and that one man show will not get us far against a great team.

I got disgusted with him in the last game when Green and Paul were both shooting red hot from behind the arc and James still took like 17 or 18 3's. When this season ends he will probably have taken 500 more shots than most of the guys with much higher percentages. But, the same people who called Westbrook a ball hog will see his most shots taken in a season record blown away by the Beard.

It won't matter who is hot and who is not when it comes to getting the most points or winning the game. James will wear himself down and drop off in defense and rebounding, and take twice as many shots as everyone else because he can't help it. It is nothing new .it is just way worse than ever. There is no team in Houston. Its the Beard Show. That won't win a Championship. I'm sick of it. That is why no big stars would ever join us. Its not a new thing. Only an aging Point guard who wouldn't get 40 million a year from anyone else.

Teams win Championships. A team with a few high percentage shooters who spread the ball around will win Championships. A one man show is a Harlem Globetrotter Act. Enjoy the circus .

The streak started in the first place because everyone else has failed to produce. Harden has been consistently double teamed and his teammates fail to attack when he gives the ball up.

We have no other consistent scorer. Paul is still playing his way back into shape. He is older so it takes a lot longer.

Gordon is garbage and has one good game a month. (He’s really only had one good season with us)

We have no other scorers. Literally... who do you giving more shots to? PJ!? lol

We are what? 21-10 during the streak? Winning is obviously the goal.

WASnt this team in disarray before harden decided to put it on his back at the start of the streak and put them back on track?

Team ball has nothing to do with the soft interior play, piss poor WIDE OPEN shooting and horrendous rebounding. Scoring isn't the problem they can't stop anyone to save their life. I would hope Capela will help in those areas and provide the balance necessary. It would be nice if the bench could build or sustain on leads. James has to do it all because nobody else is stepping up.

Dont watch then. It sounds to me u dont even watch or pay attention anyway and Just like to look at box scores to judge harden. Harden literally spreads the ball around and gives his team open shots, it just no one can shoot. U saw a few where hes legit trying to preserve the record and u proceed to sht on him, how about the ones where he has to score so much just to keep his offensively incompetent team a fighting chance to win? How about mentioning his win-loss record while CP3 and his starting center is out? Disgraceful.

U like numbers? We have guys with much Better shooting percentage than harden?
Look at this and tell me who has a better shooting percentage that's not a center compared to harden. https://www.nba.com/rockets/stats.

So fking what if he shoots more than the team, hes the fking superstar and his stats back him up. It's not like hes inefficiently scoring and negatively impacting his team every single fking game. Even this one 36% (8/22 threes) isnt even that bad.

    Stop sprouting bs about Harden.
