Im simply going to take this for what its truly worth. Do you realize this pretty much all but confirms that Jordan will return with Barkley next year? If Hakeem absolutely had to find another team I would want it to be with the Wiz. If Jordan has it his way the Wiz will be a historic team full of legends of the past looking for a return to glory. It will be exciting to watch, who wouldnt rout for that team. But hopefully Dream stays in Houston and they can get Ewing, Stockton, Mullin, and who ever else goes along for the ride and ring. ------------------
He probably Working on that C - Ewing PF - Dream SF - Barkley SG - Jordan PG - Quitten [he'll cheese out of portland] Imagine Rocket River ------------------
People say Jordan is old and can't play to 50 so we need a focus on the new players. Beating Jordan 2 out of 3 years would do a lot to make the "next Jordan." Pistons had to get past Bird and Chicago had to get past the Pistons and Knicks and even play Magic Johnson one last time. The problem is that Jordan left as a winner. If he had not left as a winner, things would be different now and people would not be doubting the young stars who never beat Jordan for the ring. If Jordan does keep playing till 50 and keeps winning, and all the officials giving Jordan the breaks are finally fired, then it is true young players suck, so this question of "what are we going to do, keep the ratings up by playing Jordan till 50?" is misplaced. ------------------
Until Jordan officialy gives up his post on the Washington Wizards, if he talks with any free agents about coming to DC, its tampering. And the NBA should nail his ass to the wall. I'm sure we all remember last summer and the hullabaloo surrounding Cuttino Mobley's status and a certain scoop posted on this board about it. ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? This stunt has been tried before and I think we all know how successful it was. It was called Space Cowboys, and it flopped. ------------------ Gascon
Barkley's play when he was on the Rockets and healthy, which was 2 years ago, was the best on the team. However, two years is a long time, especially with someone who took as much pounding inside as Barkley did. I was not talking "smack on the mound", I was merely stating that of the three aging superstars that would be on that team (if Dream were to join), Barkley would have the most trouble getting back into game shape. Barkley let himself go the most (between him and Jordan), and he will take as much a beating as either Jordan or Olajuwon if he plays. A player like Barkley can't really perform if his body is not in top shape, because he is not really that big. We will see. ------------------ Watch out for gay Limbo Dancers.
I told you guys several months ago that a friend of mine who never lies saw Hakeem in the lobby of his apartment building here in DC at a time when there was no obvious reason for Hakeem to be here. What he was doing here is still a mystery. If, after all these years in exile, I get a chance to see Olajuwon and Barkley on the same court with Jordan on a regular basis -- and the Rockets come away with Chris Webber -- I'm going to kiss the ground.
From what I hear on the radio and what Phil Taylor said on the sports radio here and what everyone who has any juice in basketball say, Webber will play in Washington if Jordan comes back. He is from the area there, I think. Phil Taylor also said that Webber coming to Houston makes the most since and that there is no way he is going to back to the Kings. He lists NYC as the other favorite if they can do a sign and trade. ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx
That team would be so much fun to watch... If Hakeem doesn't re-sign with Houston, I hope that team becomes a reality. ------------------ Well that's it, the season's over. Protrolls.com! Actually starting to resemble a website.
>> RunninRaven << Maybe overrated wasn't the right word I was looking for. Perhap, over-hyped as you pretty much alluded to. At any rate, outside of his shooting ability, Jordan wasn't all of that. I wish, hope and pray that Jordan returns. When he does, I hope the Allen Iversons, Steve Francis(es)and the Moochie(s) of league straight punk him. Of course David Stern will create a new rule in the game that says that any player get an automatic ejection if you break Jordan's ankles and embarrass him on the court. Let me travel on EVERY single possession and I be "His Airness" too. Let me get to the line 12-18 times per game because of phantom fouls and I could average 30 ppg. (ok, a little sarcasm) Let me tell everyone a true story. My father bought me the very first pair of Jordans made, you know the ugly red, black and white ones. I never ever laced them up, in fact I gave them away to Goodwill (in hind sight, maybe I should of kept them to see if they have any value now). That's how much distaste I have for Jordan. RunninRaven, no one can dislike Jordan as much as me. I don't use any of the products he endorses, Rayovac, Ballpark franks, Hanes (ok, I still eat McDonalds, but I think I can be excused for this) and SpaceJam SUCKED!!!!!! I mean, how can you make a kids movie a tribute to his so-called greatness?????? Jordan is an egotistical, narcissistic, summab!tch. With that said, the Rockets cannot let Dream go anywhere, especially to washington! ------------------ "...Do you hear 'em? They're everywhere!!! AAAHHH!!!" That's what the other teams will be saying after being shellshocked by Steve Francis and Co.
Jordan, Barkley, and Dream on the same team? If that ever happened I would be watching a lot of Wizards games. Who cares if they are old? The Wizards can't do any worse than they have been doing. I'd still prefer Dream as a Rocket, but if he decides to leave, I hope it is with the Wizards only if Jordan comes back. Pippen will not play for the Wizards. Not with Chuck there, he won't. ------------------
If there's any type of situation that we were to lose Dream to another team only this could be acceptable. I would love to see MJ and Dream with Sir Charles playing together. I would pay to see that. Could they win it all not sure but add a great guard to that team, a rebounder like Barkley and a good center in Dream they are a playoff team no doubt in the Eastern Conference. I personally would love to see Dream and MJ play together but a big "but". They never were able to play against each other in the finals(which still bothers me to this day)so if you can't play against each other why don't they play together. I would love to see that. Before I thought it was stupid if MJ and Barkley coming out of retirement but if Dream and MJ can play together I would love it as a "fan" of all 3 great 50 players. ------------------

Of course David Stern will create a new rule in the game that says that any player get an automatic ejection if you break Jordan's ankles and embarrass him on the court. Jordan's outside shooting ability?? He didn't even develop a good jumper until his 3rd season (injury in 2nd). It was actually one of his weaknesses...(along with defence) but with his will and determination--he made his weaknesses, into STRENGTHS. he didn't start getting your "phantom" calls until after he won a championship... previously though, even without the help of refs invisible calls, he was still a top scorer. AND TO ANY OF YOU who like to compare vince to Jordan (which in my mind is impossible to do), then think of this (will make you think of the heart jordan had)... in his 3rd playoff game ever... jordan had something like 63 points!!!! and was it against the celtics or pistons?? can't remmeber...but those were great teams, A WHOLE LOT better then the knicks of today. ------------------
>> $$TMAC$$ << I respect your insight and I don't intend on getting into a debate over MJ. My opinion is just that, an opinion. And just like a--holes, everyone has one. I simply don't like Jordan, period. Funny, though that you didn't respond to my traveling accusation. Maybe because it's true? Another thing, are you telling me that it took 7 years for MJ to get ALL the phantom calls? That's how long it took him to win his first championship. One more thing, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the Bulls lose that game that Jordan scored 63 points? AI, Franchise, even Cat can score 60+ points if they could jack up an unlimited amount of shots, which is exactly what MJ did. In fact, he was the ultimate ballhog (and jerk) the first years before the championship and that is why the Bulls couldn't get anywhere. I have never thought of Vince as the next Jordan, but I challenge you with this. Had T-Mac (Tracy McGrady) stayed in Toronto and the Raptors had a good, strong organization and, more importantly, coach, Vince may have been able to win a championship much sooner than Jordan did! Another thing, Celtics and/or Pistons, IMO were on the decline by the time Jordan finally won a championship. I think it would be a good game between the 2001 Knicks verses the 1990 Celtics/Pistons. Screw Jordan. Does anyone think I hate Jordan too much????? ------------------ "...Do you hear 'em? They're everywhere!!! AAAHHH!!!" That's what the other teams will be saying after being shellshocked by Steve Francis and Co.

I'm a little confused about this whole situtation. If Jordan sells his share of the Wizards, then I think he becomes an unrestricted free agent and thus would have no ties to the Wizards. Is it a given that if he comes back, it would be with the Wizards? Seems to me that if these three really do get together, it could easily happen right here in River City. CB4 and Dream already have a relationship with Rudy T, the perfect coach for old guys. The Rockets have a backcourt that can do more than hold their own, thus making it possible for Jordan to go to small forward (sort of like Cal Ripken going from SS to Third), so he doesn't get beat by the swifter guards now in the league. Any possibility?
rimrocker- I would assume MJ would share the ownership in a wink, wink deal. Basically he will sell to a trusted (non-family member) who will sell the ownership back to MJ once he is done. I would guess the NBA will let it happen without much of a fuss. They know those 2 or 3 stars can sell out every arena they goto, which would be good for all of theNBA, not to mention the press & endorsements MJ would bring back as a player. MJ wants to build equity in his investment and what better way than to load up the team with some younger players as well (like a VC or C-Webb) who he can build the team around in 3 years once he, CB4, & Dream ride into the sunset together.
