After he walked from the next James Bond film over creative differences, British filmmaker Danny Boyle immediately went back to another project he had been working on – his first musical comedy “Yesterday”. Now the first trailers – both domestic and international – have arrived for the film which stars “EastEnders” actor Himesh Patel as a down-on-his-luck man who wakes up to discover he’s the only person on the planet who remembers the music of The Beatles. He then uses those songs to become a famed musician himself. Lily James, Kate McKinnon and Ed Sheeran co-star in the film which was penned by “Love Actually” filmmaker Richard Curtis. The film is currently slated for a June 28th release. http://www.darkhorizons.com/trailers-boyles-beatles-musical-yesterday/
Trainspotting 28 Days Later Sunshine Slumdog Millionaire 127 Hours Danny Boyle can make some good movies. This looks interesting and unique.
Danny Boyle doesn't always stick the landing in his movies, but they are ALWAYS interesting. I will definitely check this out. You also could do a lot worse than to fill your movie with Beatles hits.
Yep. Great movie. You can definitely see a common thread style wise across all these, but one of the things about Boyle that is most impressive is how different all his great movies are just in terms of ultimate subject matter.
A movie done by Danny Boyle and full of Beatles songs. *throws money at the screen* Come out now! Take my money!
