Landry Shamet Wilson Chandler Mike Muscala Philadelphia's 2020 first-round pick (protected) Miami's 2021 first-round pick (unprotected) Philadelphia's 2021 second-round pick Philadelphia's 2023 second-round pick WRONG!!!!. They didn't just gave up picks. They gave up first round picks, second round picks and players that can actually play. We don't have the assets/players to do the same.
Not really. And if Harris and Butler bolt, they are screwed. Gave up a lot of depth to get those guys.
With 3 times the All Stars than the Rockets and much more talented role players and depth, Sixers are sitting in 4-6 range of standings same as the Rockets.
Maybe what Sixers paid is beyond the Rockets means, but Bucks got Mirotic for a lesser price. Hell, Suns managed to trade Ryan Anderson for a pretty useful Tyler Johnson because they were not worried about the tax. I’d take Tyler Johnson over Iman Shumpert given that you dont need to give it up picks for Johnson.
as opposed to us ? id rather be in their position than ours. their fans will NOT be pissed about their FO going all in and trying their hardest to put a team together to win a title, no matter the cost. if they come up short at least they gave it their all. this team has everything you need to win it all THIS YEAR
Not just that though. They acquired future assets but are still firmly in the playoff mix. Sure they traded Tobias but there were redundancies between Tobias and Gallo that made it so that they could lose one and still function. Plus they added sooo much depth. They got Shamet to replace Bradley who's sucked anyway and got Zubac to replace Boban. They added two solid vets that we were targeting in Green and Temple. Overall they got a whole lot of future assets while still maintaining their playoff position for trading guys they weren't gonna resign anyway. Genius. This is the type of return you should get for your best player (looking at you, Knicks)
Bro they aren't gonna stay in the playoffs for long they are gonna tank so they keep their pick. I don't think you should use this as the benchmark for trades these are once in a while ownage trades like Garnett and Pierce to Nets kind of trades. Knicks trade was obv nowhere near this but they still got a lot for a dude coming of ACL injury, gonna demand the max and wanted out of NYC anyway (according to Stephen A Smith). If you compare what the Knicks got to what Bulls got for Butler or Sac got for Cousins they got way more in terms of their future plans and direction for the team.
This is actually why they made the trade. They had already been doing this since Colangelo with the league-mandated bad deals. They are going to lose Butler so they will overpay Harris as a consolation prize. Hell, Butler may go there if not NYK so it is the equivalent of trading Butler+picks for Harris. Tatum for Fultz and high lotto 1st. What a joke of a franchise after what Hinkie left them but in the era of superteams they didn't sit it out like Morey. We are pretty good at pissing away opportunity for the last two years thanks to Morey and Ryno.
I thought so too but look at them, man they're low key decent. Like I'd still take them over the Lakers. They made smart moves and got solid vets to reinforce themselves for a run. Honestly, the draft this year is baaaad. As in there are only 5ish players who'll likely stay in the league after 5 years bad. Zion, Morant, Barret, Reddish and that's it. Showing potential free agents that they already have a playoff level team is already worth more than that worthless 14th is gonna be. They might end up sucking but I doubt it'll be on purpose.
Lalers arent even in the playoffs so they are definitely worse esp niw that everyone has mentally checked out lol. The draft this year may be bad but a lotto pick is a lotto pick they cna use it to trade for somebody like Davis and maybe NO does it to screw over Lebron and Klutch Sports.

They reflect the belief that this team isn't a contender. I'm ok with admitting when you aren't that great.
They have not had butler and Harris the entire season, obviously..... if they did they would be higher. I don’t see anyone in the east beating this team. Harris is such a huge get. With him Ben Simmons lack of shooting ability really doesn’t matter. He can just focus on playing to his strengths. REDDICK, Harris, plus having a big that can step outside will provide all the spacing they need. In fact they can clear it out and let Ben play the giannis role. They have a ton of size and athleticism. They rockets have nowhere near this amount of talent. I’m so fukkin jealous right now. We are going to continue to waste hardens prime and it’s depressing.
