Yes, but only after evaluation this season. Right now, it doesn't seem that he fits our system, if he can change this by the end of the year and learn to play on this team, then keep him, if not, find a good trade...

I haven't had time to read the board as thoroughly as I'd like to recently, but what about a Marbury-esque deal where we send Steve home to Maryland?

The Wizards have players like Hughes, Arenas, and Stackhouse, as well as the certainly of sucking, and hence, good draft picks.

It might be the kind of buzz Washington would appreciate, and at the same time, we could still get something worthwhile in return.

I apologize if this has already been mentioned.

Hughes and Stackhouse? DH, you need to apologize for more than possibly being repetitive.:D

I would take Kwame and Arenas for him though.

He has never gotten us to the playoffs, He is supposed to be a leader but is not. Cant shoot, he is overpaid, cant pass! He just is not a winner. He is a guy who would be happy if he was on tv and thats it. He is a loser and always will be. He doesnt have a brain!

Geez, DaDakota, I thought you were a Rockets fan...First Jamison, now Kwame Brown and Gilbert Arenas?

I tell ya, you can't have enough tweener power forwards that don't play any defense, quasi power forwards/centers that have no range outside 10 feet, or poor shooting point guards with terrible assist/turnover ratios.

You know what the Rockets need? A streaky shooting guard that can score 30 one night and then go 3-15 the next night that doesn't pass very often...Cuttino Mobley for Ronald Murray, anybody?

Yes, only because of the market of available, elite players now or in the summer.

He is not, however, the cancer some would make him out to be. He has become a guy who leaves everything on the court every single game. Unfortunately, he has not stepped up to become the reliable leader of this team.

If someone who has proven he can elavate a team (Kobe/TMac) can be had for Steve, no question.

The bottom line is that Steve Francis really isn't that good of a player. I mean he hogs the ball al the time and makes horrible decisions. Yeah he can score and make flashy plays, but he can't play within the "team" paramaters. Hell if you were to give Mobley 20 shots a game his stats would be the same if not better. I have never been a fan of Francis and hopefully others will see him for his true colors.

This is the same guy who refused to play for the Raptors. Can you imagine getting the number 1 pick in the NBA. You pick the player that you feel will take you to the next level and he refuses to play for your team. What the hell is that? What a selfish motha fu**a. He is so lucky to get such an opportunity. If he wasn't in the NBA he would most likely be in charge of fries at the local Baltimore McDonalds.

Has anyone noticed how everyone is questioning Francis choice for the starting pg for the west all-star team. It is nice to see other people with high bb IQ than I seeing the light on Francis.

    --- Trade him now

I'm really a fan of Steve's but I'll give him the rest of the season plus playoffs to do something, but if we miss the playoffs again then I'm thinking T-mac or some other good/great player to take the pressure of Yao because I don't think he'll ever carry a team. For those who think we should trade for Arenas, you must be smoking something.

If you're going to trade Steve ,we better get something good in return just don't hand over the keys to Yao and expect him to carry this team.

Vancouver Grizzles with the 2nd over all pick in the draft.

My point still remains the same. Still a selfish piece of sh*t.

This was in reference to MacBeth's proposal to take on lesser but competant players IN ADDITION TO DRAFT PICKS with the idea of remaining competitive but infusing the team with new young blood. The return could be high while Francis' value is still high, especially in Washington where he's something of a hometown hero.

You wouldn't accept a deal that would give us some combination of Hughes, Arenas, and Stackhouse and/or picks if we only gave up Steve and filler?

i voted no and was wowed by the poll results. almost 3-1!

i just wouldn't do it unless we got back a really good player in return. i used to think that playing him at the 2 might work... but that doesn't look so good either... but still it's so tough to give up a perennial all star when the propects for returns are guys like tim thomas or kirk hinrich.
