Will now turn to buyers in the buyout market: stay tuned for at least two players being added. I believe!
Some how posters think that when a trade is offered to another team's GM, they're not allowed to say no.
There might be a chance, but we probably aren't the favorites for DJ if he is bought out. I don't think he will want to come off the bench once Capela comes back. Wes will probably end up with GS or LAL/ OKC. Ariza might be a buyout player, he can help us. However it's not enough to propel us forward.
but one thing that shall remain constant, HOU front office does not pay for a deep & balanced contending roster.
and when the buyout period is done, we will be like "wait until the offseason, we know warriors are going to win this year anyway"
I'm not even sure why some people doubt that the Rockets were buyers, they tried to get Butler few months ago, pretty sure they called Washington and NOLA for Beal and Davis, probably Boston for Brown and maybe other teams for other players, if other teams have no interest in moving these players, at least for our assets, what would you have done? Go full Billy King and move two future 1st to get an expiring like Mirotic (assuming that offer would've been enough of course) while putting the team on track for the repeater? As for me, at least we've still Gordon and Nene, enough salary to bring Butler home
Frank Kaminsky is allegedly a buyout candidate as well. He could be a good addition. career 34% 3pt shooter, 4/5 tweener.
If you don't like the Anderson deal, blame Les Alexander. Daryl Morey had nothing to do with the Rockets needing to get under the luxury tax, that is Tilman. At the end of the day, the GM does what the owner wants and not the other way around.
Bringing in DJ would've made no sense unless we dumped Nene, which i would be for. Wes is going to Indy (I believe) our target should be Markieff Morris We need a damn stretch 4
Yes, I don’t know the specific numbers, they have been posted, but we have almost 600k in cap space, House will make a hair under that when converted. Bima has a tweet on it, we could wait a while because House’s conversion cost gets cheaper the longer we wait.
This. I have always been a future flexibility guy, and I will certainly hold my final judgement until all the dust settles, but from what it looks like right now, this is bad. It looks like we have a penny pinching owner, and it looks like Morey had to make a mad dash at the deadline to get under the tax. If the mandate was to get under the tax line from the beginning, I get it, but we could have done numerous things throughout the year to help with that. I hope I am wrong, but this looks like a last second mandate to get under the tax line. We sent out 3 picks this deadline, three! and all we have to show for it is Shumpert. I am beginning to form an opinion on Tilman, as an owner, and it is not good.
