Seriously.... this is such an anti-Morey type of owner. draining our draft picks to save a couple bucks. Les was the exact opposite although yes... he did avoid the lux tax too, but the moves made were always to get MORE assets, never to deplete to save cash IN SEASON with an MVP player in his prime trying to compete for a title. Even @DaDakota has to be wishing we had Le$ back after this bullcrap.
turned them into rivers, faried, shumpert, and probably some buy out players/maybe house. But hou made terrible moves #moreydosomething
So we gave pacers two guys plus a 2nd round for nothing in return??? I understand getting under the cap but couldn’t we get at least something?
I’m sure we are going to after Wes matthews, possibly bring House back if not and possibly Robin Lopez, Dewayne Dedmon, or Deandre Jordan as well.
Some of you guys need to chill. You need to reserve judgment until the trading deadline is over and the buyout market settles.
Being $634k under the tax line isn't enough room for use to spend rest of MLE. I have a bad feeling Nene, cash and 2nd is going to be traded next.
I honestly don’t see what’s so bad about this. Seems like the smart direction to take. Our assets weren’t landing us anyone who was going to greatly increase our title odds.
Btw, I'm actually super excited about this. Tillman said we have to be under the tax in at least 1 of the next three years. I think there is a legit chance that the Warriors lose both DeMarcus Cousins AND Kevin Durant this off-season. If that happens they become MUCH more vulnerable. The trophy is up for grabs. So I'd really prefer to be free to go well above the cap next season than to do it this season. p.s. I still think Gordon is available and I think we're going to pick up some more really solid buyout players. Right now I'm eyeing Markieff Morris, Wesley Matthews and Wayne Ellington but I think there will be more guys available we haven't even heard about yet.
A couple of bucks could save him tens of millions in a few years. I don't think fans have to be thrilled with it, but looking at this as just saving a million here or there is very myopic.
