This is the more important Kobe thread.

    Sorry @Carl Herrera
You didn't put up a poll

Didn't TMac dominate Kobe on both ends before the injuries?

I can GUARANTEE that they both knew what the score was.

Not sure but this whole story reeks of "hey let's create a cool urban legend about ourselves" that Kobe got after watching Rocky III

I believe TMac and Kobe in that they were playing drills or practicing and Kobe was keeping score. Even though no one really ever keeps scores when your just shooting or in practice unless you’re super competitive.

My guess is tmac would beat Kobe 1v1

The days in which "cool" and "T-Mac" belonged in the same sentence are long gone.

I've been saying that the TMac love shown by Kobe during his retirement years is only to prop up his own greatness. I guess first rnd ballot HoF helps for Tracy...

Tmac is the closest rival by skillset but has accomplished nothing compared to Kobe. They are worlds apart mentally, so I don't think Kobe's respect could ever be true.

I mean look at the interview...one let himself go and says he'll never touch the ball on the court while the other looks like he's ready to do a 10-day contract on a dare and claims he could play in pro shape but doesn't want to.

Legacy man...just like how Jordan built up his friends Barkley and Ewing for an inside gain. Kobe has no close NBA friends, so the inside gain is to keep The Narrative alive for the youngins.

Exactly. Yes they're only a year apart, age wise, but Kobe lasted 5 more years in the league than Tracy. Which don't include the summers in which he spent playing for the Olympics squad(s).

    Kobe beat Tracy, everything-on-1.

Retired T-Mac is a much more likeable person.

Depending on what season. I think 2003 or 2004 was his best season. There was a chance.

Kobe also came back after the rape case and Vanessa throwing him out.

He scored like nothing much in the first half, and 35 or 38 in the second.

    Boy is cold as ICE.

Not sure man, I remember when Derek Fisher shutdown Tmac in the post when we played the Jazz...maybe it was even in the playoffs? 1 on 1 I’m not sure who would beat Kobe.

I was just referencing this in another thread. Tracy was scared of contact and bailed out defenders with 22 foot jumpers.

No poll answer for, "maybe, but it wasn't no 11-3" saddens me.

to be fair, it was actually 50-3, but 11-3 was the point when mergady quit.
