Matthews should be a nice upgrade over Ennis and Green, but he isn't a massive needle mover at this point in his career. I know he plays good defense but his defensive metrics seem to keep slipping as each year passes. Also, he certainly doesn't help our rebounding problems.
Sean Deveney/Sporting News: The Knicks are hoping to bring in an asset for guard Wes Matthews before Thursday’s deadline, but the expectation remains that he’ll be bought out. Toronto, seeking to bolster its bench and holding open a roster spot, is among the favorites to sign Matthews. The Rockets are also expected to make a pitch. Not among the prospective suitors: the Bucks, Matthews’ hometown team. Milwaukee is hoping to boost its frontcourt in the coming weeks, either on Thursday or through a waiver signing.
Yawn, 32 year old. Would’ve liked him on this team 4 years ago. Morey’s patching up massive leaks with old bandaids at this point.
I wonder what it's like to have trade-able assets? Hard to imagine when Harden+CP0+Capela locks up our entire salary.
At some point Morey just has to take the most obvious move. House checks a lot of the things that we need. There is a lot more to the behind the scenes story with House if Morey hasn't bothered to convert him yet.
Eric Gordon is only veteran this team willing to tolerate in backcourt. Knicks played Matthews about 30 minutes off the bench his first game.
