The Rockets have an elite offense, horrendous defense.

We need some length on defense. We’re too small or short. That’s where Ariza and Luc helped. Austin is a good individual defense but olayer(Ingram and Dinwiddie) are shooting over his good defense.

That’s why we miss Danuel House, he’s a legit 6’8 agile defender. In the court, we’re typically shorter(sometime smaller) than our our opponent at any position.

 

Harden has been pitiful on defense this game too, and surprisingly so has Tucker. Literally every possession for the Nuggets is a wide open 3 or an easy shot <3 feet from the basket

 

No, Houston does not have a horrible defense, it just DOES NOT have defense. I can not understand what MDA and his staff are planning for the games. I never saw anything worse in my whole life. Really embarrassing.

 

The biggest problem, CP3 looks cooked.

Hopefully, it's just a slow start from his injury.

TBH, I thought Denver was just on fire in that first half. From 3 and, when we took that away, from 2. The two systematic problems were some confusions as to who was following the cutter in (mostly between Tucker and Rivers) and just the size gap inside. A few mistakes by Green and Clark too. But I thought our guys were pretty focused, just outgunned.

That half didn't make me worry about our defense. It made me worry about beating the Nuggets at their house in the playoffs.

 

This team is so poorly built, any long-term injury to Harden or Capela and we're suddenly in free-fall.

And somehow we're supposed to be title contenders according to Morey and Tilman, more like contenders for the bottom 4 seeds.

Our defense was still terrible with Capela in. Slightly less terrible, but this team has played god-awful defense with every possible lineup, with injuries, with full health. These guys think we can turn it on in the playoffs magically. It's shameful.

 

I wonder how we lost shooting 52%?!?!?!? Until I saw the Nuggets shot 62%. Once again, no team on earth is going to beat a team shooting 62%. It looks like Bzdelik's magic ain't working... yet.

 

On defense we're undersized at all positions, and at the same time we're not faster and have really poor length. Gordon is the only one with decent wingspan, and that's just covering the fact that he's undersized.

On offense we're intelligent, can shoot and have Harden.

Honestly, we have to acquire/sign multiple defensive upgrades or a defensive stud to put a dent in this gap between us and top 10 defense.

 

Bzdelik finessed tf outta Tilman. This guy got Tilman to give him a significant raise to come back and be the architect of a defense that is worse than ever.
