The Rockets are looking at guys at positions we don't need help in. Wes Mathews? DJ? I'm fine with House & Capela. We need another SF with length in the mold of Luc. Someone that switch & guard PF's. Also a knockdown shooter. All these other names are lateral moves
Another 6’5” guy we’ll try to play at the 3, similar to those coveting Bazemore. Ideal? No. He is playable, though. I’d rather have DeAndre Jordan. Both would be even better.
B R E A K I N G N E W S "Rockets interested in paying chump change to ANY formerly-high-paid NBA player on a buyout. Good evening. I'm Dominique Sachse." "And I'm Bill Balleza. You heard correctly: ANY NBA player bought out in the last year of his contract. Let's get to Adam Wexler." "That's right, Bill and Dominique. The Rockets will kick the tires on any of them. Word is that the Rockets are easy: the most promiscuous team in the league." "Did you say 'easily'?" "No, Dominique. 'Easy.' You know, like the Commodores. But where the Commodores kept 'easy' to Sunday morning, the Rockets are easy 24, 7, 365. I caught up with Daryl Morey at Toyota Center." [Toyota Center] "Daryl, you know you're being called 'The Fresh Pimp' around the league?" "I am? My wife'll get a kick out of that. If anything, it'll spice up my image. I was 'Ping Pong Dough Boy.'"
That would be terrible for the Pelicans but would probably put the Thunder in title contention. PG, Davis, and Holliday would kill.
Living in Dallas, many people here were down on Wes. But I think he'd be a good pickup for the Rockets. First, the fans attitude was heavily swayed by Matthews very high salary. That wouldn't be a factor here. Second, he's a great locker room guy. Third, he IS still a good 3 and D player. Not as good as he used to be, but still good. He is capable of defending top scorers, and doing so without fouling them. He also really takes pride in his defense...something that can be contagious.
C'mon. New Orleans would be an MVP that's averaging a triple double for the past three seasons!!!! They could snare the 8th seed every year...pretty much what's happening right now #continuity lol
Yep, and yes. Maybe not a great defender any more, but definitely a good defender. He plays top scorers very tight, physical, and is very good at avoiding fouls while doing so.
No doubt about it. I have mentioned this point before, as a serious issue that hasn't been addressed by either the ownership or by Morey.
I have no doubt that Daryl Morey spends his weekend early mornings going to garage sales and haggling over prices.
That seems like a harbinger of bad news. I don't have much expectations though. Nothing significant is likely to happen.
Look, all Morey has to do is back out of the Garage sale haggle because he found something serviceable in the garbage can at the end of the driveway.
wes is a plus on both sides of the floor. he's not washed up yet and for the vet min you can't go wrong. we should make a strong pick for no other reason than to make sure the warriors or thunder don't get him. I assume he's playing for his next contract and would consider minutes and shots as much as short term salary. he's not gonna start for the warriors, and although he would start for the thunder he'd start and play about 40mpg for MDA lol. also, even if we trade for mirotic, he and tucker are better at guarding 4's, wes would be really useful on the perimeter.
