That's exactly what happens when ex players like West or McHale are employed by one NBA team and hooking up their old franchise, or friends around the league. Current player, no. NBA employee, yes. An agent's cut isn't big enough for LeBron to take that risk for a cut of that small cut. If anything, here are more examples of LeBron using his clout to put his friends in positions to succeed than there are of him trying to make money off of them.
The lakers trade Lebron for Pelicans' AD + fillers. Lakers do this to get rid of an aging drama queen. With AD, Kuzma, Ingram, Ball and Hart they got the core for the future. Pelicans do this to become instant contender, Lebron has proved all the haters that he can play in the West and lead his team to contention. With Lebron on board, Pelicans despite being small market will immediately get sales boost. Win win situation for both teams, why not? LOL!
Totally agree with this take, which Zach Lowe also made in his most recent podcast. Furthermore, the notion that Klutch sports is somehow the key to Lebron recruiting other nba players is silly. Lebron doesn't need Klutch sports to persuade AD or anyone else, for god sakes Lebron personally had dinner with AD a few weeks ago. Players like Lerbon with Wade/Bosh, harden with CP3, Harden with Melo, Draymond with Durant etc etc have been persuading others to team up for years.
Morey is so genius that he didn't sign House so that we can loose to Pelicans without AD and give them false hope up to the trade deadline, so they won't shop AD to the LA which would rise as the 2nd most talented team in the West if it happened, they will do it in summertime instead and Morey knows Kyrie + AD aint winning **** regardless
I know Anthony Davis wants to win and I’m sure he wants to be coached by a smart guy. Is it possible the Spurs could get him?
Wojnarowski: I think Boston has sent the message to the Pelicans "be patient, wait for us, we're going to be in this, and we're going to be willing to talk essentially everyone outside of Kyrie Irving" and it has really dampened the Lakers who want to trade by the deadline
This is the point where the Sixers step in and offer Ben Simmons right now guaranteed. They can screw over the Celtics by throwing in all of their bad contracts like Markelle Fultz and sign another big-name free agents in the off-season, such as Kyrie Irving who wanted to play for the Sixers. Kyrie Reddick Butler Davis Embiid Either they become the best team in the East for hears to come or they let Boston.
One is a natural 4 and the other is a natural 5. Both can shoot the three, one prefers high post and the other low post. Match made in heaven.
Ainge to Demps "Be patient, wait for us, we're going to be in this, and we're going to be willing to talk essentially everyone outside of Irving" Demps "ok, see you in few months Danny" Few months later, after the Lakers already have a deal with Kawhi and Durant... Demps "Hey Danny, here we are, so, how about Tatum and Brown with maybe some picks for AD?" Ainge "well, i said we would've been willing to talk about essentially everyone, not exactly everyone so, how about Brown and Horford for AD?" Lol
I hope to God they ice the Lakers out. I don't care if they trade him to the Warriors at this point ( what difference would it make?-HRC.gif) just not to the Lakers. Punish them.
Someone just said the Pels took AD out of their opening video show for games That means a deal WILL BE DONE before Feb 7th IMO Rocket River
[Wojnarowski] Above all else, Boston wants to keep Tatum. Going forward with a Big Three of Irving-Davis-Tatum… is probably their ideal scenario. If Boston feels it is necessary to hold off any Lakers coup, they can tell the Pelicans they will likely include Tatum in Davis trade talks in July.
This new Woj/Lowe article is so juicy! I love that the whole league is basically giving the middle finger to LA.
Hey yeah **** cap space it ain’t an issue, you should also get Lebron on that line up. 5 max players starting line up.
