Did Donald Trump base border emergency on Sicario details?

    Rachel Maddow and others at MSNBC are putting this out there.

    Apparently President Trump has used a few stories to justify the "emergency" at the border. Among them are women being blindfolded and tied up with electrical tape and taken across the border, border agents finding prayer rugs and drug dealers having cars that are "amazing" and just faster than border agent vehicles.

    Clips of the 2nd Sicario film apparently depict all of these events in pretty similar detail, including border agents finding prayer rugs at the border.

    We know the president is prone to tall tales and heavily influenced by media/tv consumption...

    So what do you think, is Sicario where the President got his scare strategy?

    So far there has been ZERO terrorist activity on the Mexican border. I wish I could say that ZERO in Rudy voice, because it just sounds ridiculously great.

    If there was....or if there had been....that would be a whole different conversation. I'd rather take care of the problems we have already identified.

    this is real folks! there are Mexicans breaking doors in hotel rooms, then tying up people in the shower. With a bigly chainsaw, they'll cut off limb by limb. they drown out the horrifying screams by raising the volume up on dukes of hazard reruns on the small television, smaller than the one Obama had. And these bad hambres will have some not so hot lady in the bed, to not make it suspicious. And can you believe it? She will be there concealing a shotgun!! Very clever these Mexicans. be careful out there build me my glass dome! No psycho. You're the psycho.

    Yeah, I just saw the Sicario: Day of the Soldado film on cable for the first time. It depicts terrorists sneaking across the border, the prayer rug thing.

    If it weren't for the current political climate, I might not have thought twice about it. But I had to shake my head. Is this where the FOX News types got the idea?
