You're right. Harden hardly respond to any of these negativities on him. He usually just kills them the next time they meet & let his game do the talking.

This whole thing was completely premeditated by Curry. No way does he try a step back that he never tried before then have Harden’s # ready to throw up in protest. He meant to travel. He wanted to make a statement to the league, fans, and the refs. He and Kerr are scared. So they want Adam Silvers office to save them. GS is “ripe for the picking” this year. This just shows how desperate they truly are. What a collection of cowards. I know this is old news by now, but it still makes my blood boil just listening to Curry’s postgame.

To nitpick, he did travel at the beginning of his drive, took one full step before putting the ball down for first dribble.

Not true - if you see the entire post game interview he admits that he took a step back, realized he didn't create enough room and tried to create more space by imitating Harden's move....he fails to recognize that when he tried the first stepback that didn't get him enough space, he started the gather which is why the rest of the move is NOT like Harden's move and why he got called for a travel while Harden typically doesn't. When the gather happens is the most important part of that move - you can keep stepping back forever as long as you maintain your dribbling motion but the second you stop that motion you have limited steps left. .

How many times has Harden been called for travel on a step back 3 this year? Or at all?

When you do it 100 times, the 1 time you mess it up and actually travel, there's a pretty good chance the refs will give you the benefit of the doubt (their own metrics would favour caution over aggressiveness), when you do it once and you travel that one time, you're not getting any leeway and you just look dumb.

I just find it interesting that all the sudden it's getting attention. Hasn't Harden been doing this for years now???

On another note, I always felt that Kyrie and Steph do infact perform similar 3-4 step, stepback jumpers, in similar vein as Harden. It's always a discussion on what the plant/pivot foot is, but I feel I've seen steph do this many times over the years. It's those baby steps in between that many superstars intuitively do now. Only thing is that Harden is straight killing everyone with it this year. The traditional stepback is the player performing their dribble at the same time as planting the opposite foot that they're doing a stepback in, resetting the step-count. From that planting of their opposite foot, they're allowed two steps. But nowadays, they're a lot of leeway in when you gather for the shot, when you take that step, how you factor in off-timed steps, etc. It's pretty complicated, but I know that many superstars with handles perform many similar moves, minus the "double stepback" that we all know harden traveled on and steph failed on too.

It's kind of surprising that Steph is being so salty about it. I'd expect it from just about any other warrior, but not him.

Im pretty sure, Harden takes two steps and Curry took 3 steps there....slowed it down at gather and counted 3 steps. Would be amazing if NBA has side by side rebuttal showing 1+1=2 and 1+1+1=b!tch made

Curry should've been fined for that. Clearly trying to show up the refs

Curry just played the tricks that Steve Cole once played: to get the attention of the media and put pressure on those refs.
But one of the reason that basketball is amazing is: those creative players could always get new techs. eg. Paul Arizin's jump shots, Jabbar's sky hook, Hakkim 's dream shake ,etc.
And those haters would always say stuff like "oh this would ruin the b-ball" or "He is amazing but I still hate him."

Warrior players and coach are always acting so cocky. Year after year, they get so lucky with signings and injuries.

    > Does a double stepback (like Embiid's mock, in warm-ups)
    > Physically bumps into the ref
    > Doesn't get T'd up.

Boy, having Draymond Green on your team must mitigate so many things.

EDIT: Didn't realize this thread started at the beginning of January -_-

I expect Curry to act like a little punk baby just because he is. He was probably sucking on his mommy's milk until he was 6 and then took a baby bottle in his lunchbox to school every day. It's obvious he never got weened off the pacifier by the way he chews on his mouth guard. He still is attached to a baby blankie too as you can tell when he sits with a towel on his head on the bench . Just shut up, suck on your pacifier and cuddle your blankie on your mommies lap Curry!! This league is a man's game!!

I just got a cardboard cut flattening boxes to recycle. It hurt worse than a paper cut. Funny thing is, it wasn't half as irritating as how Curry makes me feel every time I look at his smug face chewing on his mouth guard.
