When asking what was accomplished by the trump government shutdown, including the weakening of America's security and safety and the hardships suffered by many hundreds of thousands of government workers...

 

I'm actually mildly worried that Trump is going to flip out and invade Venezuela to soothe his ego.

Unstable defeated Trump is, I think, maybe something we want to avoid if we can. Pat him on the head, tell him he's a good boy, and throw him a Milk-Bone or something. Tell him how he totally won on this deal and we all are in awe of his massive hands and lush flowing locks of blond awesomeness which totally look natural and adequately cover the top of his head.

A petulant, angry toddler with 4018 nuclear warheads at his disposal should be a scary thought.

If airports shut down for any prolonged period of time, that would definitely be the end of his presidency. I think his base could potentially be placated if he failed on the wall thing, but the whole country would be outraged by paralysis in air transport.

I think the members of Congress on both sides would look a lot better to their constituients if they at least pretended to care more about moving towards a compromise or maybe the common good of ending the shut down rather than trying to position this the best for their own political purposes. I'm just glad the shutdown is over at least for now.

 

Immigration reform will require to compromise with the Democrats. This has been known yet the GOP doesn’t want to play the game.

Nancy did good, but I think she is getting too much credit to be honest. This shut down was wildly unpopular.. this was a layup for the Dems. Nancy will leverage this win until the end of time to advance her corporate agenda. Progressives better get ready.

My great grandparents did this, but they owned the only grocery store in Johnson City, Texas during the Great Depression. They gave away food on credit, knowing that they'd never get paid back, because that's just how you helped your neighbors. I seriously doubt Trump has that in his soul.
