So .. Let's say CP3 signed for what, like 20million? 15? 1? It wouldn't matter once the Rockets were capped, I say won't matter because it wasn't going to ever be a GSW situation getting another star(s). If you want to blame a contract on Morey, look at Ryan Anderson or elsewhere. But the Rockets getting closer to winning a chip 2x (2 WCFs) in almost 20 seasons (well since 97) makes both CP3 and Dwight (blah I can't stand him...) worthwhile additions. Especially when other franchises haven't done **** in 25+ years. I mean look at the Tmac/Yao Era or even the Franchise/Yao period, I guess first round exits are better? Don't get me wrong I think Houston had a legit shot in 09 against the Lakers until Yao basically had a career ending injury.
Current top 5~7 players in NBA LeBron : Kryie, Love Curry : Durant, Klay, Draymond Durant : Curry, Klay, Draymond Westbrook: Durant, PG13 Kawhi: Aldridge Giannis is too young and just entering his prime so outside of AD, Harden's had the least luck in terms of getting help from his 2nd star during his peak years.
If it wasnt for the greatest team of all time, harden would have at least one championship. Some of these all time great champions didnt have the stoutest competition.
Dwight Howard was 28 years old when he signed here. It isn't Morey's fault the guy wouldn't run the pick and roll anymore and instead wanted to post up every possession despite being terrible at post ups. For reference, of the players you named only Paul George and Kyrie Irving were younger than Dwight when they were traded/left in free agency. So uh, maybe your whole argument is dumb?
How do you explain the fact that we were the only team, due in large part to CP3, that ever challenged KD’s warriors in any series? That includes Lebron, Kyrie, and Love’s team.
Short memories. Need I remind again that last year, we had a 90% WINNING PERCENTAGE in games where James, CP and Clint all started? 90%!! That was best in the NBA. Better than GSW. We had the #1 seed in the West We were 2-1 vs GSW regular season We had GSW (the Greatest team of all-time) on the mat 3-2 in the WCF with our foot on their throats until CP went down. (the fact we couldn't hold the last 2 games may say something about his value) Yeah, nothing major about a 90% winning percentage. Morey's an idiot we should be WAY better than 90%. What was he thinking?
Well written, except for the part about Latvia. That lacked relevance, even when understood to be mentioned in jest.
Rockets got ARIZA for 4 years at $32 millions and ariza was a world champ at the time and morey never made him a super Max extension. Ryan anderson was earning 18 mil last year yet never got ARIZA a super Max deal while ariza was arguably in his prime.
Exactly! So many posters here without an ounce of perspective...only one team wins a ship each year...so 99 percent of fans are in the same boat as us. At least we have some hope of contending each year.
Ariza is not in his prime. And even in his prime was never a max level player. Letting Ariza walk was the right move. Neither is Ryno a max player but he got lucky along with many other decent players who got paid like super stars. The Suns were probably the only team that offered that kind of money, which is why he signed there.
If it wasn't for ariza, the rockets would have been swept by the warriors in second round back in 2016 game 4. DONT FORGET THE CORNER 3 ARIZA HIT IN GAME 4 TO PREVENT SERIES SWEEP IN 2016!!!! After harden got shafted out nba mvp, his body language was looking like trade me Morey Lol. Then after warriors whooped him. Still don't know how harden got his super Max 2017 extension after Spurs whooped rockets in 2nd round. At least now, harden is earning his supermax money!
Cp3 hamstrings are weaker than my ability to pick up chicks. He is a 30 games per season at most guy.
