No way I would want them to cut up the steak for me. Also, the plate up looks terrible, the rim of the plate has juice from the steak and the sides separated like that look like some **** you would see in culinary school. Beyond that, did it taste good?
Meal wise - it's little boring and basic. Drink wise - an outright sin not to enjoy a great bottle of wine with a good meal. Selection wise, a little trite and too easy. Value wise - Objectively, you could have had better value elsewhere, but glad you enjoyed it so that's all that matter for you. Price wise - silly, given your situation.
I mean, if you enjoyed it, who gives a f***? I personally would have had scotch as my night cap and would have had water or wine with my steak. Also, I'm not a big fan of mac and cheese or seafood. I would have rather had a vegetable medley or something like that as a side, and possibly something fried for a starter. But hey, you do you. Creators create, and innovators never follow. Or something like that...
Leave the man alone for not drinking wine though, lulz. Gotta have WINE with your MAC & CHEESE. C'mon. Wine gives me heartburn personally.
STQ does a family style serving where they slice and serve all your entrees on a carving board. Was a little skeptical at first but the presentation was beautiful.
Looks decent but I'm not paying $758 in Houston. That's insanity. Still, I'm taking this thread as a challenge to find A5 wagyu for much cheaper (but still better) when I'm in Japan in March.
Are they closed for good? I used to eat there at least once a week before Harvey flooded it out. I haven't heard anything about a reopen in a long time. Their redfish on the half shell and calamari were my go to, but yeah- the seafood tower was amazeballs.
I think Wagyu beef is overrated. Plus, I got a much better value when I went to Vic and Anthony's a couple of months ago with a ladyfriend ($380.00) Crab Cake Maple-Glazed Quail Tomahawk Chop (40 oz. of Akaushi beef that we split) A side of roasted bone marrow A side of duck-fat potatoes A side of Brussels sprouts A side of mac and cheese An Old Fashioned Two (2) Pearl Blossom Martinis A large slice of red velvet cake A large slice of chocolate cake An Espresso drink Do better, OP lol
1. Your username is PELE and INCUBUS LOL 2. I've worked for the service industry; if you're calling someone out for not tipping, you probably tip like **** 3. PELE and INCUBUS IS YOUR USERNAME LOL
I've paid that high a tab but not for two people. I don't order from the right side of the menu but there are limits. The meat does look like bacon, but by all accounts they're giving that away at McDonald's next week. I'd say you get to a point of diminishing returns with food and the rest is either good company, ambiance or posturing.
For all you foodies (not you ballers), the best restaurant meal I've had in the last..........well...........ten years has been at the Willows Inn on Lummi Island.
