[Buzzfeed] President Trump Directed His Attorney Michael Cohen To Lie To Congress

Well yeah. The last time a president was impeached the Senate proved that obstruction of justice and perjury was insufficient to remove a president so it's hard to think they'll find something worse than that on Trump. Maybe it'll happen, so I should raise that 0% to maybe 5%, but still there's almost no chance.

 

I wouldn't trust a Buzzfood article with a recipe to boil water.

Are you ok with that? Or should there perhaps be a little corrobation before the accusations are repeated and the ramifications enumerated upon?

Also...almost everyone was aware that this was a completely uncorroborated story...that's why they all said 'if true'. Meaning they knew it had issues when they ran with it. Either one of two reasons they would do that. 1) They are just so biased they believe anything they hear that agrees with their bias, or 2) they knew it would likely have issues, and they wanted to get their sound bites out there before those issues surfaced.

Which one of those is a good thing from our leaders?

As for CNN...did anyone expect anything less? Which is why the comment they made themselves aftwards, that TheresTheDagger shared, is so very true. Their reporting is completely biased...but things like this are hard to backtrack from or make excuses for.

Nope. Not shown in the clip was the flag for holding. So, yes, ball is at the 5. The other 5 yard line. As CNN's own analyst indicated, this moves the media's credibility backwards, not forwards.

But, they have enough imadufuses that probably do think this is a positive thing that maybe ratings wise it is. Which says an awful lot about our media...and none of it is good.

 

Mueller did not refute the entire report - just some of it they said were not accurate, so he can work in peace and finish his investigation - Buzz feed will be vindicated on all of this just like every single thing ever reported about Trump has come true as he continues to peddle lies and deceit and Gulliani backstrokes faster than Michael Phelps.

BuzzFeed News reporter and editor went on CNN today to defend their story and give details about their communication with the SCO before the story was published. Full video of the interview at the link.

Interesting note regarding the emails which were read and shown during the interview. The reporter emailed Peter Carr from the Special Counsels Office and informed him they would be publishing a story regarding Trump instructing Cohen to lie to Congress. Carr replied, and said they would have no comment. Although the premise of the article was relayed to Carr, they were not informed that it was tied to the Special Counsel beforehand, which may be why they only chose to comment after it was published.
