Welcome Manimal to Houston Rockets. Kenneth Faried will be a great help in the rebounding dept as well as in the pnr. He will bring the energy for sure every night. He will be an awesome player playing with Harden and CP3.

Interesting, I really appreciate your perspective on this. I have some family on the defense side of things in a state where it’s still illegal. They don’t smoke but don’t care, generally just think it’s a pain in the ass for everyone. 2 oz is the mention, I think more than a few folks would consider that personal use. Of course, I’m talking about like married couples that don’t want to spend every other weekend hunting, might go buy 2 oz couple times a year. Who knows, if he’s getting 2 and blazing them down in a week there’s probably deeply seeded issues, but that’s just speculation to provide perspective. I guess it really is subjective!
Some very seemingly intelligent people in here overthinking this entirely. Ideally, what does this offense require the big man to be able to do at the 5? Rim run, pick and roll, catch lobs, and rebound. News flash, those are the only and exact things that Kenneth Faried excels at. Perfect fit offensively. Now can he switch defensively? Who knows, I don’t think he’s ever played in a defense like this one. We’ll see, but we aren’t exactly holding teams under 100 points these days without Capela. His positives far outweigh any perceived negatives. He WILL score a lot of points just playing his role from a position where right now we’re practically getting nothing from.
@D-rock Our deficiencies are DEFENSIVE REBOUNDING (what Phill Jackson attributes as being the biggest factor in winning champioships) and INTERIOR DEFENSE. A. GORDON: In my opinion, A. GORDON is actually a worse fit for the rockets as compared to K. Fareid. Fareid actually addresses our deficiencies... Nikola Vucevic: -Gets rebounds (11.9 per game) -Provides Interior defense when Capella is out -SHOOTS 38% FROM THE 3
All of that is fine. The poster said he's never been a good defender and you responded with "stop posting" as though his observation was incorrect. Just thought it odd.
You are wrong. We had freaking Clark at the C spot so at least the Manimal is better. Harden was also brought in by the FO duh, if he is great then the FO is great too since they brought him in. If it weren't for the Fo making a big offer for Harden, then he would have stayed in OKC taking less than the max.
Could they dump Edwards and sign Nunnally to a 2-way? I admit I don't know the full rules behind 2-way contracts.
Save the flames, please. The cancer already burns .....Cyber likely knows much more, respectfully to his circle. BUT a solid (person I highly respect) mentioned that 3 main deals are on the table with Melo being packaged with a filler. Allegedly, Melo has had a voice in the discussions and wants to play for a team ready for the playoffs or in what he deems a "happy" environment. (Happy to me is playing with Harden, but what do I know about happiness and NBA choices....) 1. To Miami for Wayne Ellington (alone or with contract fill). Miami was one of Melo's top choices before us, and he has a good relationship with Spo and Wade. Also, he has business ventures there. 2. To Portland, again with some sort of package. Dame and CJ wanted Melo all along and Portland needs offense when Dame and/or CJ aren't hitting jumpers. The return for us? I was told relief, but for the right combo, Aminu is available. I can see how he'd fit into a stretch big role. 3* -Unlikely, but whispered: Packaged to the Lakers. Lebron and Melo are also part of that brotherhood that includes CP3. The return for the Rockets: None of the youngins, but the "usual suspect." I don't have much to offer here. *I see this only happening with LeBron demanding it, and I'm not opposed to having some mid-range firepower of SuperCoolBeas (or even Lance if necessary) that's just me though...Beas great going to the basket and we know the work he put in during his time in Houston. Good guy. Lance, when focused, is a difference maker and can be another "tough guy" on our team. I don't know the rules on either contract 4. Melo is just released. ( Ear said this is just as likely as Melo being moved) 4B: Separate ear says Melo would prefer a trade over a release because it would get him on the court more quickly versus teams having to dump guys to fit him in. Again, take this as you will. Just wanted to share what was shared with me. Love ya'll. Cod
Thanks Cod. Ellington or Aminu would be ok adds. But I'd almost rather just have House bad at this point, so whatever gets Tillman his cap relief the quickest.
obtaining beasley would just give us another melo type player who's a defensive liability and not great at catch&shoot 3's. on the plus side though it would probably guarantee fakers don't make the playoffs ellington or aminu would be great but morey probably have to throw in picks or eat a lot of salary, right?
I'm not really sure either. "Only players with four or fewer years of NBA service are able to sign Two-Way Contracts, which can be for either one or two seasons." JN had a cup of coffee in 2013-14(13 games) and again this year(15 games) so hypothetically, he could, I guess? He'd probably go back overseas.
I get that completely. House won me over. I loved his energy, especially on the defensive side. JNun has not been impressive IMO. He's a liability on defense. House wasn't afraid of anyone. I love that, PJ loved that and James became a big supporter. It was obvious during games. James looked for House, knowing he was hot or would drive it hard to the rim. They had their own handshake...significant because that usually takes time or a friendship previously.
Beas can hit the 3, but I like him coming off a pick and going hard to the basket. He's great in isolation as well. We need guys who can create their own shot just as much as guys who can catch and shoot the 3. Admittedly, with bias, I am a Beas fan. But, I do know that The Pope would be a major help to our depth.
Thanks @saleem . I appreciate it. This shicaca runs in my family, so it was inevitable for me. 10 minutes at a time some days. I'm still working and active, which makes me feel better, regardless of what the doc and his charts say. I think perspective keeps me "well." Some days I don't have much energy, but I still push myself to run 3-5 miles each day. I have to try, right? Love ya.
