They cut him because they are all in on Jarrett Allen and they are developing a very young core. Faried doesn't fit with their trajectory and wanted to be bought out to get a chance to play more minutes elsewhere.
I dare people to watch this and not get excited about the possibility of this guy playing with Harden and CP3.

No luck in planning for the buyout market then landing someone. Guys get bought out every year. I'm sure Morey had a list of potential guys to compare to who he could've signed this summer.

Misleading though, he certainly got probation..but a higher end misdemeanor carries a POSSIBLE 12 month county jail sentence. There would have to be egregious facts and/or an extensive criminal history. He probably didn’t have any priors so a any jail time is unfathomable
This is a good video. I live in Littleton, CO, so I'm very familiar with the Manimal, and for awhile, he was one of the biggest fan favorites here. I really thought he was going to get much better than he has become, as he was flashing signs of being a star at some point, but even with some flaws, he was pretty good. At one point, he was even consistently hitting elbow jumpers. Then, he got hurt, and eventually, his defensive deficiencies started to be exposed, and then Malone took over and Faried just didn't fit in with his style. I really have not followed his career in the last year, so can't say where he is at, but man, when he was on, his game was very similar to Capela's good offensive days, so he should be somewhat successful. The biggest problem is that he doesn't have the size and bulk to hang with bigger post players, so he gets pushed around easily. But if he is close to the player he was with the Nuggets, he should be a good addition. With all that said, if this guy ever "gets it", he would develop some sort of outside shot and he would be an all star. When he was on, he would be a difference maker. For such a low risk, this is a home run signing by the Rockets.
