Such a sad game. Harden put in so much effort, I can't believe his body didn't spontaneously combust. Too many easy points for the Nets in the 4th. I don't know if the Rockets get a little sloppy consciously or subconsciously expecting James to carry them to a win or what, but they simply can't treat easy little scores against them as inconsequential. I know the team is thin, but geez, you have ONE guy shouldering your ENTIRE offense. And he's pushing himself beyond human limits to do it. If you can't help on offense, push yourself beyond your own limits to get back down the court and contest a basket or block a passing lane to the basket on defense. Even if you do it poorly and foul. Everyone's tired, but you simply can't waste a 58-point effort like that. Still, can't get too heated. It was a hard-fought game on both sides. The Nets were relentless, and they got the benefit of some ridiculous shots at the end of regulation. I feel bad for the whole team but especially James.
FOH. That's your comment after that game and looking at that video? I have to tell ya, one of the biggest mysteries is how DaDakota has so many "likes" on his posts.
Ofcourse he is going to be mad.. but he look some ill advised shots trying to get 60 which cost us some valuable possessions. And the Rockets D smelled like sh*t
Yet we low ball out rotation players, great job Morey, just let your franchise player die of exhaustion
It truly is, there’s no actual basketball knowledge or any substance. He couldn’t tell you anything about how defenses are literally selling out to stop this guy and he still gets it done. Hell he had two big steals, boxed out the entire team for a offensive rebound. He contested shots, moved his feet he played solid D yesterday and has for most of the season. But then again your have to actually watch the game and know what you’re looking at to understand that.
That game was still very winnable. But with some health and coaching, I expect us to be better by the playoffs. Missed free throws. If given the situation again, can we design a play to get a better free throw player (not Tucker) open? Green and Harden are both +85%. Tucker and Rivers are less than 65% Do the math. Perimeter defense. Nunnally committed a dumb foul in the last minute of the fourth quarter. He also let his man blow by him. I expect him to get better with a few games under his belt. Or at least, our help defense needs to be tighter. We let a huge lead get away in OT. ISO. This is the most problematic issue since I haven't seen us develop any alternative to isolating Harden at the top of the key, waiting for a pass with 2+ guys draped all over him. He should be the one to get the ball -- but the pass shouldn't *begin* with only 8-9 secs left. We have to figure out a way to swing the ball, set screens and get him open so he can start his play a lot sooner. I put this on the coaching staff. The man is dead tired -- how about putting him in an easy position to create pts?
Better than Curry, that's for sure. At least Harden can switch, effectively. Why does Curry get a pass on his horrible defense, even after Kyrie, Love and 'bron stole a ring from him exploiting both his inability to play one-on-one defense, and his inability to switch. That was a 73-win team that got exposed on one simple thing: Curry's defense.
James Harden is on a run for the ages, ripping to shreds franchise and league records, carrying this injury-ravaged team on his back, and ROCKETS FANS still have the gall to criticize him?
Oh yeah like the WIDE OPEN 3 RIVERS MISSED?? Look at the shooting percentages and how many open shots they missed. We lost because we got killed inside and couldn’t rebound.
delete this... Harden isn't the issue, and is the only reason this team isn't at the bottom. If you want to talk leadership I guess he can pull an hakeem too and fake an injury ?? https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1992-03-24-9201270434-story.html Don't get me wrong, I love hakeem but your revisionist history prior to the 93/94/95 season is bullshit. Hakeem became a leader and so can Harden, honestly with Harden's play lately and not b****ing, I'd say he's already there
also, quick: Name me one playoff series that we lost primarily due to another team exploiting Harden's defense. Can't think of one, can you? That's because he steps up his defense in the playoffs. It's OK to complain that his offense is just regular season stuff, yet ppl make the false assumption that his regular season defense remains the same. Curry very nearly lost the 73-win season in the previous round, too, as Westbrook and Durant took turns on him. Took Klay to save his ass in a 3-game come-back.
Wow after Harden almost ran himself into the ground with that Herculean second half effort you come up with that?
No way James Harden and PJ dont get hurt the way the roster is designed. Need another versatile Big /3d guy like Jeff Green. and another 3/d like shumpert to get the minutes down while still having the offense. We need James to be winning games playing a 3 star game not a 5 star game just to win
Curry does seem to get a pass for his defense. Then again, he had Ethan Sherwood Stauss write a ESPN The Magazine COVER STORY on his DEFENSE in Curry's first MVP season. So when that narrative got out there......juxtapose @HMMMHMM's atrocious "Harden defense video" that went viral.....that's all it took to "create the narrative" that we see today. It can't be shook.
i'm actually quite puzzled at anyone who watches the games and criticizes his D i mean even after carrying 90% of the offensive load, he's still the one battling the other team's bigs down low. that takes tons of effort and even last night, he was very effective in the 2nd half at deflecting the ball and generally keeping allen from scoring then he played end of the 4th and OT with 5 fouls and was still able to cause a missed fastbreak layup w/ his transition D and without fouling. even our announcers brought up what a great play that was
