Nuggets tried to double Harden but Harden picked them apart.

We do seem to have their number, at least so far this season, but we also shouldn't be too cocky about it, in my opinion. They didn't become the top seed in the West on their good looks. ;-)

    Never assume! Never surrender!

Yeah, but since we may actually see them in the postseason this year, it's a big deal that we seem to have their number.

I just don't understand why Harden is so universally hated. He doesn't act like a punk, he doesn't play dirty, he doesn't talk trash, he doesn't foul anybody, he doesn't have a bad attitude, he just goes out and slays, every night. Russell Westbrook is hateable. Karl Malone was hateable. James Harden is not hateable. I don't get it.

Didn't Kenny Smith say teams should double Harden more? This is exactly what happens when you employ that strategy. Good try, Nuggets.

There really is no way to guard Harden. The best you can do is put your best defender on him and mix things up every play (double, switch, hedge, etc.). Even then Harden can find a way, but if you do the same defensive strategy over and over, you don't stand a chance. Beard will pick you apart.

the best you can do is foul him a lot and hope officials will swallow the whistle
in fact i bet you any money that is why teams keep fouling him... they are not stupid ... the refs are the only chance they have and they know it

I'd like to see more of these games where double teaming is employed against us before concluding that it can't be done in the playoffs because I firmly believe it will be. Every time they ran the double, I kept thinking how the Spurs would do it better. The Nuggets employed it for almost every one of Harden's minutes on court, but I think a team like the Spurs would stagger it or do it so that it messes up the flow of Harden's game. I believe it was Miami that did it with success in Dec. I think we'll see the double team happen when the opposing gameplan is to let him have his numbers and when the game is close to initiate the double in clutch moments. Imagine if Draymond closed harder and left PJ wide open for a pass. I can see that happening. This game was nonetheless really good practice for Harden, which is why I want to see the double played against us more before playoffs come. Also, when CP3 comes back, it will be interesting to see if we'll revert to a pass out to CP for his own iso over a play initiated thru Clint, like we saw last night.

Meh I think generally Harden handles it well, it’s do the other 4 guys take advantage of the 4 on 3. Last night everybody stepped up and made them pay.

Rockets getting called for every late BS foul, but refs wont whistle at all on Denver. We have the worst homecourt love from stripes.
Which is funny considering we had more fouls called against us. :)

Heck, we won and I complained about the refs hahaha. Denver had at least 3-4 undeserved foul calls their way, and it seemed like they were able to bully us without whistles all night. Ah wells, we all see what we want to, ha.

Same here. I especially hated it when a few years ago we were on pace to breaking the 3 point record against the Warriors and b**** ass Mark Jackson decided to foul us the last 3-4 minutes of the game to prevent us from breaking it.
