While we are paying farmers (Welfare) because they cannot sell to China because of the Tariffs

Trump's Buddy is helping himself to that beutiful bean market

Just like it was planned or something

Explain to me how Trump's Tariff is helping the American Farmer (other that the welfare check we paying them) and Americans in general.

Putin says Russia will supply soy beans, poultry meat to China

MOSCOW (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia would supply soy beans and poultry meat to China and that the United States had effectively given up on that market.

Putin was speaking at the Russia Calling annual investment forum.

China Turns to Russia in Search to Replace U.S. Soybeans

In the search to replace U.S. soybeans, China is turning to Russia.

Russia plans to increase production of soybeans in the Far East for deliveries to China, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told reporters in Beijing. The two countries are also planning to work more closely on other agriculture products, including rice, pork, poultry, fish, and to develop logistics.

While Russia is a tiny supplier of soybeans, the move shows one of the effects of the U.S. trade war is closer Chinese and Russian ties. China has also been looking to diversify its sources of food as part of a broader Belt and Road initiative that’s backed by hundreds of billions of dollars for infrastructure projects.

“We can expect an increase in exports from Russia to China, but it will not skyrocket,” said Laurent Crastre, an oilseed analyst with French agriculture consultancy Strategie Grains. “It will be one more option they will have to source soybeans.”

Russia wants to replace some U.S. supplies of beans to China

“Soybeans are in very big demand in China,” Medvedev told reporters in Beijing, according to a transcript on the cabinet website.

Yes, Trump's policies hurt the United States position in the world in many different ways. The guy is turning our nation into a joke.

Soybean farmers and federal workers are the real patriots here. Too bad that they both will have to file for bankruptcy. It’s a national shame.

I don't think this is completely intentionally since the main beneficiary is Brazil. Russian soybean production is tiny compared to the US and Brazil.

Trump's tariff was not on American soybeans. It was China who chose soybean as a retaliation. They refused to buy any soybean from US instead of using similar tariff measure. Very unfair, as Trump complained.

Agriculture in the us needs to change. Commodity crops destroy land they're grown on, and need chemicals slash GMOs to make it. That's not sustaunable in any way and farmers will tell you that. Trump inadverdantly with a genius move here.

I'm not a Trump supporter - and nothing is factually wrong with what I said. Liberals try too hard to make everyone who doesn't agree with them crazy , and it backfires. Case in point , trump somehow winning.

Explain how trump is winning re: tariffs? Especially re: farmers and soy bean. And sorry if I think farmers not growing commodity cops is crazy. If your point is farmers should look for more sustainable approaches to farming... cool. But that's not what your argument came off as... and that's not what trump is saying about agriculture or tariffs.

Nope, youre doing the liberal thing and putting words in my mouth to suit your narrative.

It backfires and makes you look like a fool.

It's pretty clear I have an issue with farming techniques reliant on corporate chemicals that ruin the land. In fact, the entire post was about it. Russia is smart enough to promote natural agriculture throughout their huge nation- it has paid huge dividends.

It's quite easy for America to make the transition - but the govt (including Obama's tenure) just doesn't care and doesn't fight false information from gmo lobbyists.

Seems your only response is I am a liberal.

Again, explain how trump is winning re: tariff actions or even his general thoughts on responsible farming re: corporate chemicals? The only thing you wrote that I believe trump may believe in is that he supports things russia does.

btw, can I include you in the list of trump defenders that didn't vote for trump? Seems a big and growing list...

    somehow Trump winning:
    1. Trade wars bring him billions, by taxing you liberal Trump haters.
    2. Trump will save billions by not paying promised subsidy to the farmers due to government shutdown.

I said was it was inadvertently a good thing for US agriculture. Farmers need to make the transition and without the big contracts for useless chemical heavy cattle feed like soybeans, they can start the process. It's like the military industry losing out on the hundreds of billions for saudi weapons is a good thing, because that's not something sustainable or helpful for the future of a strong country. Supplying unstable regimes that harbor terrorists with an endless supply of mass human killers.

We have enough diplomacy and information in the 21st century to stop preparing for wiping out half the human race, and profiting from the idea that it is inevitable

Look at the issues, stop obsessing with personalities. You're a big reason reality tv rich kids get elected and real policy makers get ignored. Now Cortez is doing the trump "say whatever it takes to get media attention from extremism" thing from the other side, and the other side is cheering her on.

Gee, its so simple... 300,000 soy bean farmers can head to the local seed stores and simply change crops? Thanks trump! Course, I don't know how it all relates to saudi weapons, supplying terrorists, or whether AOC gets cheered on... but just like moving to expensive neighborhoods, its a simple solution.

Any guess on the percentage of soybean farmers that still support Trump? I am guessing 70-80%. Trump knows his base well, he can get away with anything with them.
