Having a Toyota Tundra as part of the "Tundra Zone" double suite Toyota purchased has been part of the plans since the deal was announced. It was a big topic of the press conference where we announced the deal last summer.

A crane actually put the truck in place a few days ago. You'll be able to see it at the Sacramento game, although the seating for guests may not be ready until the game after that.

We do have the option of making the truck part of the game presentation, but nobody would ever consider honking the horns and flashing the lights after every basket. Everybody knows that would be too much. The goal, after all, is to improve people's opinions of Toyota because of all they've done to help make this a great arena and because of all the commitments they've made in this part of the country -- not to annoy people.

If you want to suggest how to tie the truck in (every blocked shot? every dunk? every ....?), we're all ears. We haven't made a final call yet.

Toyota will be using the Tundra Zone as a place where they can take their dealers and their customers to games. They've been a great partner -- we're happy to be associated with them and we've intended all along to make sure they have a good presence in our bowl.

Every fan in attendance gets a free fully loaded Tundra pickup if the Rockets score 100 points...

let it honk and flash its lightes every time we score on a fastbreak....and the brake check fast break points promotion goes along with it too since cars need brakes

How bout the truck can honk its horn whenever Yao jams it. That way, it won't be honking all game long. Also, Yao could use it as incentive to dunk more.

I don't want to hear a honking car or truck horn AT ALL, period.

If it must make melody, have it honk the Yao Ming song whenever he scores.

Two things......because I'm feeling dorky today.

Toyota has a good truck in the Tundra, but they're not dominating the market with it like they do with their other vehicles because it's not perceived as being full size.

First, do the horn and the lights on a fast break score. The Rockets aren't all that great at the fast break, and they need every incentive they can get. Fast break points are natural crowd pleasers, and the horn will let everyone else know to stand up and shout.

Second, flash the headlights, but don't use the Truck's own horn. No one would hear it over the crowd noise. Get an air horn like they have on eighteen wheelers and use that in conjunction with the truck's lights. That will get people to associate the horn with the truck and it will give people the perception (even though they know it's not the truck's real horn) that the new Tundra is a BIG truck.

    Anyway, my $.02

    Booya!!!

I can't wait to see the Truck tonight!
Every 3-ptr sounds good for now.
A fast Break might be a good idea too, but not both.
Lets just test it out and judge from the response.
It's obvious honking after every basket is no good.

My seats are on the opposite end of the truck, so it's hard for me to get a good picture.

You probably just sealed the deal. That truck will be there forever now.

That is a little toooooo much for a sports arena.....

Whats next? 500 bushel of oranges exploding out of a suite at Minute Maid park?

    Tim-

If you have to leave the truck, I would suggest not having the horn honk and lights flash. WAY TOO CHEESY. I mean this is a basketball game we are going to watch, not a carnival.

How about Sterling McCall Jr. making the starting lineup intro? Or Mike Calvert singing the national anthem?

Like I stated before - that "drawing" is an artist rendering - meaning its a conceptual picture of how it MIGHT look.

As for last night - the Tundra Zone is not completely finished so you might be having some pre-empted bashing........

How about the truck horn blows everytime an opposing player "blows" a freethrow.
