Also a poor use of assets …Landing Gasol would require significant assets and as much as we could use another big but have more pressing needs than a backup to Capela. A wing / 4 should be a much higher priority …. Tucker cant keep playing so many minutes.

    Don't want some 6'5" guy either …. need a long wing / 4 , not a 2/3.

It looks like Draymond Green is available today. Every owner fears the repeater tax.
Morey does not want to add more salary to next season, other Gms are the same.

Unfortunately, Bruno Caboclo is ineligible to sign a two-way contract. Only players with fewer than four years of NBA service are eligible. Caboclo would be in his fifth NBA season if signed.

That's too bad. That's what I was hoping the Rockets were angling towards.

Damn, I was hoping see him get some minutes on the A squad. Do they retain his right til training camp or can someone else sign him over the summer?

Any NBA team is free to sign Caboclo. The Rockets have no NBA rights to him. The Vipers have exclusive G-League rights to him, but that is limited only so long as he is playing in the G-League on a G-League contract (as opposed to being assigned there by another NBA team while on an NBA contract).

Yeah, that was mentioned earlier as well, when KCP and J.R.'s names came up. Sporting News brought up Justin Holiday's name yesterday.

Chriss plus a protected 1st rounder for Hood should be a target too. He played well in their last playoff game with Lebron if I recall correctly. Hood's contract is an expiring 3.2 M.

    HOU trades: Knight/Nene/Chriss/Melo/VEdwards/2019, 2021, 2023 FRP
HOU receives: Aaron Gordon/Willie Cauley-Stein, ORL 2019 SRP

ORL trades: Aaron Gordon/ 2019 SRP
    ORL receives: John Wall/Skal Labissiere

    WAS trades: John Wall/2019 SRP
    WAS receives: Knight/Melo/HOU 2021 FRP

    SAC trades: Willie Cauley-Stein/Skal Labissiere
    SAC receives: Chriss/Nene/Vince Edwards/ HOU 2019 & 2023 FRP/WAS 2019 SRP

Houston gains starting 4/small ball 5, improves overall defense, 4-5 depth, scoring, rebounding and gets younger. WCS is insurance for Clint during regular and post season.

Orlando finally acquires an All Star PG while clearing up logjam at 4-5 and allowing them to pay Vucevic next season. Vucevic is Magic's true franchise player of the present, not Gordon, while Isaac is their future franchise player who complements Vucevic.

Washington is rid of Wall's contract and internal issues (Wall vs. Beal), adds a young former lottery pick PG as well plus a first round pick in 2021. Also adds another scorer in Melo for practically zero dollars. East is likely only place Melo can continue to play (with MEM as only possible exception).

Sacramento gains 2 first round picks, high 2nd round pick and contracts it can shed to enter the FA sweepstakes next season. Also reduces congestion at 4-5 with their multitude of young 4-5 players. Kings were not going to pay WCS with so many young bigs acquired in last few seasons (Bagley, Giles, Koufos, etc.). Nene can mentor their young bigs while Chriss is popular local kid returning home. VE is a free look at wing, a need.

Clark can't be traded before the Feb 7th deadline.

    CBAFAQ #83:
If a Two-Way contract is converted to a standard NBA contract, the regular trade restriction exists for the first three months or until December 15, whichever is later (see question number 101). The three month period begins on the date the contract is converted.
