"Celebrity Justice" has learned that prosecutors in the Kobe Bryant case have contacted a Portland, OR hotel worker. Sources tell "CJ" that this woman says she had a sexual encounter with Kobe Bryant at a hotel where she worked.

"CJ" has learned the woman works for room service at the hotel. Sources tell "CJ" the woman disclosed to co-workers that the meeting between her and the NBA superstar was "hot and heavy."

Sources close to the woman tell "Celebrity Justice" she and Bryant actually met a few years ago at the hotel and he continued to request her for room service on repeated visits there.

Sources say the encounter prosecutors are particularly interested in allegedly happened in April, 2003. Sources claim that Bryant requested that the woman deliver him room service. When the woman went to his room, a source tells "CJ" Bryant began flirting with her and she was receptive. "CJ" is told the two then began having a romantic encounter. According to these sources, the young woman at one point put a stop to things because she felt guilty- she was involved with someone else at the time and also knew Kobe was married. These same sources tell "CJ" Bryant and the woman then began to get intimate again. Sources say the woman finally said "no" and the encounter stopped. "CJ" is told the encounter did not get as far as sexual intercourse and was consensual.

The incident could impact the trial if prosecutors are attempting to establish an M.O. or pattern of behavior on the part of Kobe Bryant.

"Celebrity Justice" spoke with the woman in question who was extremely distraught over being brought into the Kobe case. A source says if subpoenaed, she would testify about her relationship with Kobe. The source says she did, however, describe Bryant as a "perfect gentleman" and says she hopes he is acquitted of sexual assault charges in Colorado.

I detest the overuse of "apostrophes." It makes me want to "kill puppies."

Not a wise move by the prosecutors. If they are attempting to establish a pattern of behavior as the article claims, then the defense will point out that Kobe could take no for an answer. After all, the encounter stopped when he was told no last time.

The worst they will be able to do here is attack Kobe's character by making him look like an adulterer, but then we all knew that he was one anyway.

Are the prosecutors thinking people will put more importance on adultery than on non rape?

No way any of this stuff is admissable. Even if there was a videotape of him raping another girl, it probably wouldn't be admissable in the case in chief (only the punishment phase). Keep in mind that Kobe is not being tried for being an adulterer.

Prosecution will claim that previous behaviour like this established a level of expectation in Bryant's mind, thus contributing to his extreme reaction when the girl tried to stop. It's arguable, psychologically. Fixed action pattern.

I agree that will be the logic the prosecution will use, however, a good defense team (and does anyone doubt Kobe will have the best defense team?) will make a glaring point that Kobe does understand and adhere to the word "no" as his previous affair clearly proves. With the whole concept of "reasonable doubt", I'd say this witness will be much better for Kobe than for the prosecution.

BTW I haven't really formed a conclusion of whether or not Kobe actually committed the crime, as I'd really have to hear all of the evidence. I just question whether calling this witness could backfire on the prosecution in a big way.

It would depend entirely on the context of the 'no'...was it said in the heat of the moment, as was allegedly the case with the assault. If so, I concur with your observation. If not, not.

Also, I don't think we should concentrate on this as an isolated peice of evidence; cases are built piece by piece.

Naw, he just thinks he's too good to hang with his teamates and bang the regular groupies, so this is who he is left with.

It just goes to show you that Heidi Fleiss was providing a quality service. Look what it has come to now. Hotel service.
