While James has had a great 10-game run, I suspect that the season when Wilt averaged 50.4PPG & over 20RPG he had a much better 10 game stretch...in fact just looking at basketball reference, Wilt scored 599 points (59.9 average) had 254 rebounds (25.4 average) and 22 assist (2.2 average) during games 68-77 of 1961-62...
Are we just going to ignore D House is now up to 35.3% (3P%)...47.1% (FG%)....58.8% (eFG%).....13 PER
GreenHouse really made the spark to the New Year this past game. PS. This dude's description of NBA highlights is incredible to read.
5 games as a starter: (last 5 games) D House: 58.1% (FG%)....50.0% (3P%)...4.0 (3-pt attempts)....4.4 (Rebs).....10.2 (Pts)......28..1 (mins)
Another dope stat for Harden just in: What I also loved about his 3pt shots this season is how the basket goes in. It goes in with force, with conviction, with confidence. It's strong. It's fierce. It's convincing.
Jame Harden is breaking records and changing our conception of how a primary ball-handler can play. His 3-point shooting tendencies are like no one else in the league. James Harden is shooting 12.5 3-point attempts per game. That is a ridiculous stat in and of itself. But it is worth paying attention to how James Harden gets to that number of attempts. He is also completely leaving behind what we think of as normal in terms of pulling up from distance. Steph Curry has been considered the king of the pull-up 3, because of his extraordinary ability to hit them at an unheard of rate. But even Curry at his “pull-up peak” in 2015-16 mixed in a lot of catch and shoot attempts: 6.6 pull-up 3-pointers vs. 5.1 catch-and-shoot 3-pointers per 36 min. James Harden is not doing that. James Harden is shooting his way to a completely different reality:
