Not Morey’s fault the owner has no money.

Any other competent GM would have done exactly what Morey did this summer.

Let’s move on from this moot discussion topic.

Yeah and you'll replace him with whom exactly?

Is Danny Ainge looking for a GM position? Popovich? No? You are telling me you'd rather have a complete stranger make decisions and you think he will be better than Morey? LMAO!

Yes Sixers were so smart they fired HInkie for not doing a good job. What happened? Oh yeah, they only replaced him with somebody way worse.

This! Also if we have not adjusted our offensive and defensive schemes to match the current personnel that is 100 percent on the coach.

Defensively if Bzedelik is back then you cannot have Carmelo sent packing and show defensive effort like this. Welcome back Jeff, but we're not giving you a pass either.

It's not a long term solution. Morey gambled & won last year, but now everyone in the league knows his hand. The Rockets don't have a foundation & keep gambling that their 3's will fall each night. The problem is he didn't calculate problems in chemistry & players getting sick of watching Harden ISO every possession

Chris Paul will sadly kill our chances if ge doesn’t improve. Last season he was almost on Hardens level as a player this season you could make a case for clint now being the second best most productive player. That’s how far injuries have slowed him down the hammy, elbow and so on.

The best GM in the NBA goes and gets a washed-up midrange shooter, MCW, and a bunch of inconsistent non-shooting rookies for his system??

That is just ridiculous. You think teams didn't know the Rockets MO last year? We've been doing this for YEARS, 55-27 same offense in 2016-17, 65-17, 17-18. Suddenly they figured out we switch and are very heavy on shooting threes? Did you read your own post???

Missing key players a great deal of the time this year. Melo was disastrous. That sort of drama, not good for team cohesion at all.

I don't know if we will be better with Ariza/Luc, but making drastic changes after a 65-27 season is just dumb.

Didn't they do that because they had to pay CP3 and Paul so much?

Morey would have another GM job before the ink is dry on his Termination papers. That's why u don't fire him.....

Basketball ain’t real competition anymore anyway. If you really believe there ain’t strings being pulled for the team’s with most money, go ahead and keep suffering. We shelled out for CP3 and we made it to conference finals and almost to Championship round. There gonna hand over AD to LeBron. Then LeBron is gonna win another ring. Tillman and Morey’s job is to keep interest/competition alive.

    It's not.

A rotten, injury-plagued start is not worth firing arguably one of the best GMs in the league and the best GM the Rockets have had in decades.

Did he take risks that didn't work out?

Yes. Carmelo *should* have worked, but I place the blame largely on Melo and MDA. Melo could have tried to dominate in the second unit and learn to move without the ball. He didn't like that approach because he's used to the ISO ball and long 2s. That's not what we do, and he knew that coming in. HOWEVER, MDA has James and CP post up in good situations. Melo was successful with his back to the basket in a few games with us. MDA *could* have used that as an option in the second unit.

MCW? Low risk, high reward situation. But, again, MCW cannot shoot. If he could at least be consistent with the floaters and getting to the rim, he'd be a good (albeit poor, poor, poor man's) Rafer Alston. I still think he's valuable as a ball handler, but he leaves us playing 4 on 5 unless he's exploding to the rim.

Ennis? Too early. He's a fighter and a guy who learns quickly. He's underrated when he takes it to the rim, but his 3 ball is shakier than I expected. That high arch is cringe-worthy.
*****The problem is: We thought we could replace what Trev brought. As I argued all along, Trevor Ariza was the perfect 3 for the Rockets, even with his flaws. He fit in perfectly, rarely got injured, played HEAVY minutes and could make shots in crunch time. He could defend the other team's best player and then come down on the other end and make a tough shot. **He was also one of our most underrated, trustworthy passers and decision makers. He wanted his check, and I don't blame him for that.
**But: CP3 is a one-of-a-kind talent. I understand his contract. It just is unfortunate to lose Trevor. The report about DM telling Ariza he was simply not coming back is not the whole truth. Talks were heavily-focused on stability for Trevor's family and to keep CP. Phoenix won that chess game.

DH/Clark? I love the young guns, but experience is important. They just need time.

Knight: The guy is a legitimate NBA player. Injuries change everything. I see him working hard out there, but we're in win-now mode, with James' window closing more and more each year. We just don't have the time to wait for him

It's going to be Morey/Till agreeing to give up picks, a fan favorite, likely my guy and fillers to acquire any substantial help.

Luckily, there are names out there, those "FreeBirds", who want out of their situations.

I'm trying to think of a single team that wouldn't call up Morey in an hour if he were let go.

Maybe Toronto bc they are committed to Ujiri. Maybe the Lakers bc of Magic ego.

Maybe some basketcase teams because they know he'd not bother.

But yeah we should totally get rid of him.
