Time to go. ________________ "Dennis Kucinich has 49 states to go, expects to be in each one, expects this to be a brokered convention, and expects to be the candidate," campaign spokesman David Swanson said. ________________ He may have 49 states to go and he may be in each one, he just won't get any votes. If the convention is brokered, there is no way Dennis Kucinich will be the compromise candidate and frankly, basing your campaign on this far-fetched hope is more than troubling. Withdraw now and save what dignity you have left.
At some point, candidates without delegates are not going to be invited to the debates, which should further marginalize their campaigns.
Kucinich would be a great candidate, if races were decided on the issues alone. Unfortunately, we live in a sound bite and photo op world, and Kucinich looks like Howdy Doody and sounds like Lucille Ball.
I hope both Kucinich and Sharpton stay in for a good while. It's not like they are taking votes away from more electable progressives, and they are great for teh debates. This may change in SC, tho.
Often, some of the fringe-esque candidates will keep campaigning long past their sell-by date with the intention of getting the other candidates to absorb some of their platform issues, and not because they believe they have a chance at being nominated. It sounds like a good strategy for a candidate to get his/her platform issues into the national spotlight, though I can't say how often this tactic is successful.
Excellent points. People don't care about who would actually BE the best president; only who would LOOK the best president.
