Zeppelin The Dead (all members and associates) The Highwaymen (plus all solo stuff) NWA (ditto) Jane's Addiction Allman Brothers
Jimi Hendrix and the Experience, Bob Dylan and the Band, Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green, The 13th Floor Elevators, Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, Spirit, Todd Rundgren when he was into piano, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Vanilla Fudge when they opened for Cream at the Music Hall, the Steve Miller Band, Procol Harum, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd at the Music Hall, who did Dark Side of the Moon in "quadraphonic sound" before the LP came out, and in front of about 3500 really stoned fans, Including myself and several friends. All bands I'd like to see again in their prime, but before I croak, not after. A nice fantasy. After? Mellow Jazz. Joni Mitchell when she was young would be nice. Make sure she plays guitar. It's worth it.
prime Whitney Houston Michael Jackson peak Kanye Kendrick Lamar maybe close out with Houston’s own Travis Scott
I'd pick all garbage bands (I'm talking literally people playing instruments that can't play them), and have one last laugh since I wouldn't be there (that'd certainly be easier than this)... Hahaha Ok so seriously Probably... Pink Floyd Depeche Mode NIN Tool Of course Alice in Chains Having a hard time with the last one, definitely some good choices already posted in the thread, and even a few of my picks I might change depending on the day.. Hahah harder or lighter (maybe rap etc etc), maybe more 70s/80s... It varies but my last pick would probably not be a band post 90s. Can't handle much new music, unless it's by an actual artist I liked previously that has newly released music. How about Jamiroquai?? But then since we're reserecting the players here, the Who/Yes/Prince/STP (with Weiland, saw their new guy and... No), haha, sorry I failed to produce 6 , so we'll just go back to people that think they're a good cover band but sound like nails on a chalkboard
right! on that note, im putting together a festival of all dead-bands to play my welcome-to-heaven party! jazz with the miles davis quintet - i believe theyre all long dead power trio rock with hendrix, john bonham and paul mccartney (paul is dead) funk band with prince, eddie hazel (p-funk guitarist), bernard edwards (chic bassist) and clyde stubblefield (james brown drummer) waylon jennings ali farka toure david bowie
That would be one hell of a film adaptation of this (↓) that I'd like to see. I'd prefer it to whatever adaptation that is in production with Michael Peña right now. Spoiler: this
I'm all for New Order playing but I'm not allowing the lead singer to wear a skirt. I saw them the one time at AstroWorld and he was wearing a pink skirt. He looked like Molly Ringwald in "Pretty in Pink". It was pretty gay. I still don't understand it. The music was good, though. And, yes, Ecstasy was everywhere and I did partake.
Are you sure that's not Erasure you're thinking of? Saw both shows, don't recall Bernard wearing a skirt but do Andy Bell.
Rage Against the Machine (just to pump some adrenaline into my service) Weezer (90's version with Matt Sharp on bass) James Brown (in his prime, with Clyde on drums of course) Buddy Rich Big Band (Channel One Suite and West Side Story, both with extended drum solos) Rush (playing Exit....Stage Left in it's entirety) and of course, headlining.....as if you couldn't figure it out.... The Police (young and angry version) Spoiler
If we could summon people from the grave: SRV Pink Floyd Dream Theater Gojira Devin Townsend Project Meshuggah That would be the order in which they perform. We'd close the show with something fun, like Meshuggah's 1998 New Millennium Cyanide Christ.
Now, after my funeral, at the grave site, I want the following to show up: Godzilla King Kong Mothra Mighty Joe Young Ultra Man Pandemonium ensues...
Did Erasure open for New Order at Astroworld? To my recollection, I've never seen Erasure and only New Order when it comes to this kind of music. I've only been to one dance music show like this in my entire life. I'm pretty sure it was Bernard wearing a fish net pink skirt. But, I'll leave open the possibility Erasure opened for them and I got confused on who was wearing what. This was the "Technique" tour I believe.
Had to be Erasure. I was at the New Order Astroworld show when the Sugarcubes opened. No skirt by Sumner. Bell was known for it.
