No team has run away in the West. Denver and OKC are leading the pack with 9 L. Everyone else in the West (not counting PHX) has 15 L or less. The Rockets stands at 14 L. CP3, EG, Capella coming back to form, a piece here and there and the Rockets can be right there at the end.
Yeah well, at some point we have to stop collecting L's, and just let the ones we've already collected appreciate in value.
we are one trade away from being a top 4-5 team, and i believe we're already a 7-8 seed. The addition of danuel house is really big. He has the legs to run the court and isn't afraid to take the 3 and has been hitting enough of them. I feel like he's serviceable enough for us as a rotation player. we are due for a hot streak. Eric gordon is the key. he needs to catch fire again. paul played good enough yesterday.
Way too soon to think we’ve turned any corner. We’ve got Utah, Memphis, Spurs, OKC, Boston and New Orleans all this month. We should know if the playoffs are realistic by the new year. We lost too many easy games already. It’s going to be an uphill for quite some time
Rockets gotta stop dropping the easy games like Cleveland, Washington, and Dallas. I can't say they're fully back until those start becoming consistent wins. But the effort/intensity level has noticeably picked up the past couple of games. Hopefully it continues.
Oh, we are going to collect plenty more. So with every other teams given the much more parity in talents between the teams in the West this year. The big difference is we haven't play anywhere near our potential. I don't know how many other teams can said that. Utah?
Sad thing is, we saw this when they went 8-2 on their way to a 9-7 record, then it all went the other way again.
its games like last night vs the lakers that make me really wonder wtf is going on and why cant we do this $hit every night. total mind f*ck man
Going into last night's game, Houston has played the 3rd toughest schedule in the entire league https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/ranking/schedule-strength-by-other?date=2018-12-13 After last night's slate of games, Houston is now sitting at 10th. They've never finished lower than 15th in terms of strength of schedule at any point in the season.
MDA has used his starters a lot of minutes to keep alive. EG and CP3 will miss some time for sure. We still need a lot of depth.
The Rockets are currently 13-14 Let's be crazy here. . . . . If there were to win their next 8 games They would be 21-14 Where do you think that put us in the West? Vunerable teams - Spurs (14 losses) Blazers (13) Kings(12) Dallas (12) Memphis(11) Lakers(11) Clippers (11) Any team there that loses 3 times would be tied or below us Rocket River
Well, other teams will make a run too. We should not be conceited enough to think we are the only one capable of such a run.
They tricked me once with those great wins against Denver and Indiana. We are going to have to go on a good run of wins and depth continues to be a issue. Specially if EGO continues his brickfest.
with the substantial losses from every team so far, i think we're finally seeing a more "balanced" nba. competition i think is now at its highest point (and growing) for us and everybody else which makes "win now" mode even more difficult to reach at this point. feels like if we cant make the right moves to "win now" this year or next year then its over for a while
We may also not make any run. What I'm saying is, we stand a better chance to make the run since I believe we haven't played up to our potential + it doesn't look like anyone is running away from the pack, which I believe is due to the talents across the teams this year.
I think our bench played up to their potential. The two wild cards are Chris Paul and Eric Gordon, or really just EGo. Chris Paul has cut back on his scoring, there will be games in which he will score 25-30 but those will get rare. It is going to be a constant. He has to reduce his TOs and keep last year's assist rate, not an easy task.
What is intersting to me is that only the 2 teams from last years western conf. playoffs team are currently in top 8. Those are Warriors and Thunder.
you mean why cant harden have a 50 pt triple double every night ? bro are you serious ? it should be obvious why we cant do this every night. THIS IS A ONE STAR TEAM. james has too heavy of a burden IMO
