Not remotely surprising. With Iron Man, Thor and Cap all likely being done with the MCU, Guardians of the Galaxy suddenly in flux, and Spiderman not being theirs they need to fill out their calender for the next 4 years or so.

Beyond Black Panther they have no other proven solo stars, although I would be shocked if Captain Marvel doesn't become one as well.

They need someone to replace RDJ's Iron Man. Whether Spider-Man, Avengers, or Captain America:CW, he just brings in the fans as Iron Man basically connects the main characters at this point. I think they will try to have Captain Marvel to fill this role. No pressure on Brie.

I found the character to be extremely unlikable in the 1st one and that soured me on the movie. He's much more palatable in Ragnarok and Infinity War. Hopefully the upward trend continues and I actually like this one.

I think the point was to make him unlikable. Initially, he is unlikable in the comics as well. He's a douchebag like Tony Stark only he's not particularly charming about it.

I think that's why people end up missing out on him, but I don't care what anyone says -- the first movie was dope. I'm greatly looking forward to this. Give me more Mordo!

With the amount of money RDJ is pulling in for himself and Marvel as Iron Man. That partnership's not dying until the next box office bomb.

Marvel should keep Thor going. It was revitalized with Ragnarok, as Dark World was pretty trash.

Black Panther, Thor, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange is a solid foundation. There are plenty more properties for Marvel to make movies from, though.

I don't remember anything from the second Thor, except the giant trashcan shooting laser beams with it's face.

    Infinity Stone what?

I remember him saying he would be going on a sabbatical. Basically leaving it open for him to return if Disney offers him a lot of money, but that it sounded like he wanted some time off.

My wife and I enjoyed the first one a lot. It's always cool when I can see a movie that she's into (thank God she isn't into the rom-com stuff, but a lot of the superhero movies for her are forgettable). She liked the mystical aspect of Dr. Strange.

it's funmt how he's the big ticket since iron man 2 & 3 are among the worst of the avengers solos.

It wouldn't be the first time his contract with Marvel was "ending".
