ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Mavericks 12/8/2018

Well. I don’t know what to think or say at this point. Could the reality be that Trevor Ariza was the TRUE leader of this team? The one with the sack? The one who motivated guys? The glue? I just don’t see how a 65 win team can dissolve to a lottery team when they didn’t lose one of their top 4 players (Harden, cp, cc, ego).

Just wow. I am feeling hopeless for this season. I thought 2015-16 was bad. This is worse. Tack on no flexibility this summer and that is a recipe for a steaming pile of garbage for years to come.

I remember when Tilman acquired Salt Grass. Went from decent to garbage. When he acquired Brenners steakhouse. Again. Turned to overpriced mediocrity. All because he cheaps out on ingredients and products. Maybe he didn’t cheap out on the rockets. But he has the opposite of the Midas touch.

 

Clint has a better chance of altering Luka's shot by forcing him to drive instead of letting him get off a 3pt shot.

 

Yeah . I mean it was a close game . If cp makes those ft's we probably win . If anyone made one more three earlier on then we are up by 11 and maybe they don't come back .

I didn't think the officiating was that egregious tonight . It's not like we were taking it to the rack all game and getting hammered with no calls .

 

And f**** the Hawks. Luka was suppose to be in Atlanta but those bastards wanted Curry 2.0.

Agreed ... and there are several points here .

Clint didn't play bad D on luka ... luka made some lucky shots and Clint was maybe a bit too far back on him .

Generally you switch to prevent the 3 . But luka took and made them anyways

I prefer not to switch . You can go over the screen and prevent the 3 ... then you have luka probably going downhill . But you can help ... and luka is a rookie if he has the presence and ability to execute a pass then kudos .

We are just too rigid in our philosophy overall

Oh ****. We suuuucccckkkk. I’m sorry to have missed most of this season but my current feeling of near complete apathy towards losses is great.

 

Time to tank and trade 3 and 13 for more picks superstars getting paid a ton to suck when you can pay 1st and 2nd year players to do that while they grow I’ll take that over this

 

still not ready to give up on the season but man the margin of error is really getting small

 

PJ Tucker played him and forced him to drive to the rim, that would have been better than the way Clint played him. Luka is 6 feet 7 inches and really good at taking good shots. Clinton's height does no effect him like other point guards. DJ was killing us but get beat for 2 and take better shots. Also other players should touch the ball at the end of games.

At this rate why did we get rid of Melo, he would not have run worse offense than Harden did. BTW I am saying and do not want him on the team, but don't waive to run that %hi$ty offense.

 

I root for optimism. my reservoir is low. really low. I'm pretty optimistic, but i'm starting to get in bed with the tank camp.

Just punt the season.

 

Luka is a bad shot maker just like Harden.

You don’t have to play to be a leader. Just on the team. Lining up practices in the summer and team gatherings. We don’t know what is going on behind closed doors. Something has to explain this dramatic implosion and I thought the possibility of Ariza being the true glue and leader as being one possibility. The other possibilities are just scary. 1. CP3 got paid and has checked out. 2. James is that kind of player others don’t play well around or rubs the wrong way and isn’t a leader.

 

The rockets make me appreciate the Texans.
