    I'm not sure i can survive to a JR Smith trade...sure, his contract is better than Knight's contract but...ugh.

    At this point the cavs need to trade, cut or waive j.r. Smith. I am certain some fans refuse to go to the games until he is off the team.

    That said, that sexton kid look ok.

    JR Smith's contract is the asset.

    The Cavaliers aren't giving that up without getting an asset back, like a draft pick.

    But it'd be crazy to trade a 1st for that contract, even if it is a 2021 protected first.

    But DM is increasingly being put in the position of a cornered cat... so I can see him do it.

    Yep, but that's exactly what we should not do imo, when you're in a bad position, the thing you don't want to do is to take a risk of being in an even worse one. I don't really see how moving a 1st rounder to swap Knight with JR puts us in a better position, now and in the future.
