We are 3-1 including wins at the Pacers.

Yao again averages 24 ppg, 9.5 rpg and shoots an astonishing 65% from the field.

I personally honestly believe that Yao was having the best 2 weeks among all NBA players. He was averaging 22+ ppg, 11 rpg and was 64% from the field during the 2 week 7 game stretch. And the Rockets were 6-1 mainly because of the stellar play from the big guy.

I hope that Yao can be awarded for his play eventually. If he keeps up with the current pace, he can win the player of the month for February.

He got robbed last week. This week they get a chance to make amends and vote Yao the player of the week.

I had no problem with Finley getting POW last week. Garnett also deserved it this week. He was a monster...

NEW YORK, Jan. 26 – The Cleveland Cavaliers Carlos Boozer and Minnesota Timberwolves Kevin Garnett were today named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, January 19 through Sunday, January 25.

Garnett led the Timberwolves to a perfect 4-0 record this week, averaging 24.5 points, 15.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.0 blocks per game, recording four straight double-doubles (points-rebounds) in wins against New Orleans, Toronto, Detroit and Phoenix.

Nope. They start the week on Monday. Very surprised that he did not even get nominated after the monster game against Orlando. I guess that the NBA just holds very high standard for Yao. It was good enough for Finley to win the award by shooting 45% from the floor, while for Yao, 64% was just not enough.

He needs to shoot over 80% from the floor and put up the big numbers to even have a chance to win it.:)

Boozer only put up those #s , because Lebron was out. Also, Ilguaskas was out one game too, so Boozer had like 20+ boards that game too.

so...........Garnett gets POW award for getting numbers slightly above his averages against 3 eastern conference teams and the worst team in the west? What the hell? I wanna see Dampier's stat line for him to get nominated over Yao. Somehow, i don't think he was as good.

I actually defended the NBA when somebody posted that we don't get respect because we never appear on nba.com. Now I retract my statement. After Yao's monster night last night, who was on the NBA website? Sam Cassell. I basically accept as a fact we'll never get any respect.

Damn, some of you guys have blinders on. MF and KG definately deserved to win. Anyways, what's MOST important is that the team is hot.

Hey, I'm not saying Yao deserves it. KG was definitely POW last week. My prob is he did not even get a nomination. You can't argue either Michael Finley or Erick Dampier had better stats or was more impact. Especially Dampier. Check out his stats line

14.2 PPG, 15.7 RPG, 48.8% shooting, 1.5 BPG. The Warriors were 2 - 2 against crap competition (Utah, LA Clippers, Seattle and Portland). I just don't see him being nominated over Yao.
