When calculating CP3's value, don't look specifically at him. Calculate it as "augmentation" for Harden. CP brings intelligence, leadership and low turnovers. These elements augment "Harden's game."

It is about "augmenting" your best player. That is the true value of CP3. Have to evaluate at the marco level.

lol 34 year old cp3 won't take the rockets anywhere. that team will be worse than the clips when cp3 left.

This is true, but it all has to be evaluated and calculated together.

His on court value. His leadership value. His "augementation" value. His actual contract value. His opportunity cost value. His future value in all these categories. Etc, etc.

When you put it all together the question ultimately comes down to something simple... can you move CP3 for something that is as good today with better upside?

Ultimately I and we I think have absolutely NO CLUE the value of CP3 on the open market, so that's the part we can't opine on.

If I threw out some deal like Ryan Anderson, TJ Warren, Suns unprotected 2019 draft pick for CP3 effectively... wouldn't most Rockets fans say yes to that? But if you don't get the pick... then its completely different, or if its protected, or whatever.

I wouldn't trade him. I would do a trade to get him some real PG help. If they could somehow swing a trade for John Wall that would be perfect. Start Wall and bring CP3 off the bench.

Clippers probably are laughing their ass off that we traded them all those guys for a 1 year left CP3. They probably laugh about it every day. Morey is a better GM for the clippers than the clippers GM.

I would... def because his contract will be the most toxic in the NBA in the near future.

Damn the Rockets are big f****ed with his 5 year deal SMFH.

what exactly are they laughing at? they haven't done anything. if you want to celebrate some fluke start 20 games in and act like they're actual title contenders, thats all you. love those low standards

Would like to do it sooner than later because his shelve life is limited. Plus I don’t want one of the youngsters to start to brake out which they are primed to do.

Yep only Lebron, Durant, Harden, the Greek freak, Davis and Curry are right now super max type players
that suns pick could in all likely hood end up Zion so no they will never do that. Zion, Ayton and Booker could form the next big three in 3 or 4 years

How quickly they turn on you.

CP3 isn’t and shouldn’t go anywhere. Hope he retires a Rocket at 40 years old.

$40million dollar backup point guard that doesn't play in back to backs ?!

$60m invested in the Point Guard position alone ?

What about the luxury tax ? Tillman already pissing and whining about $16m in taxes.

I'm all for adding another point …. but not one that breaks the bank. I think its likely they shed salary by the end of the season rather than take on more. And really , they need a quality WING before they start worrying about a backup point.

I could see them breaking Knights money into two players that make more then moving one or both at the deadline getting under the tax.
