I think the article is very interesting. There are few points in there that worth to look at.
    1) There are only 2 teams in NBA that would do single team against Yao. Laker and Magic. In both game, he has the highest field goal attempt - 57 combined.
    2) In his previous game, once he get 20+ points, he will stop shooting and elect to pass the ball to other players. It wasn't the case yesterday.
    3) The team have more confidence to pass him the ball lately because he has better control of handling the ball.
    4) Magic yesterday game plan was to shut down the perimeter shooting of SF and Cat. They just did that but unfortunately for Magic, Taylor play a very good game and contribute the offense.
    5) Yao was determined to attack the basket, understand there is a mismatch down low. He almost post up on every play.

If the Rockets are building their site in Chinese now, shouldn't Sina have an English version?

I really sick of these 'chinese only' threads.

How many times do we have to go through this:

Marc Jackson is a PF who almost became a Rocket and now plays for the 76ers.

Mark Jackson is a PG who plays for us.

Maybe we can have a sticky that distinguishes between the two.

Truly, I wish Mark Jackson is 5 yrs younger too.

If he is 33yr old, the same age as Ward, he will be even more valueable as a backup PG and mentor for Steve Franics. He can even play more than 25+ mins as PG and let SF play as 2.

those of you who want clutch to 'ban' that website surely have a not so open mindsets.

sina has nearly zero news writer itself, it's just a collection of all news that they could find in all chinese media outlets. Whether a report is true or not does not depend on sina, it's the original source of the news that really matter.

yangyi is not the type of reporter who will fake stories to just get attention. He surelly does not want to lose his credits and his bondage with yao. occassionally he might be a little bit exaggeratge or emotional but the basic facts he provides are usually true.

some of the Yang Yi stuff is good. I personally like the story that he wrote about Yao's old stories. In one article, Yao told him that

When Yao was 18, he went to US and attended a training camp. Back then, he was playing against current Bull’s Chandler. Yao got 3 fade away in a row and Chandler just seemed helpless, then finally Yao missed one. The coach of Yao’s side stop the game and told Yao to stop shooting fade away (probably the coach thought that’s not the way a center should play). When the play resumed, Yao got another fade away again and he said “MJ can shoot fade away, why can’t I?”

I think Yao just so used to those style that he finally find a way to mix them. This post seem unrelated to this topic, but just trying to say some of the Yang Yi stuff seem true.

Hmm.... let's see.... maybe I feel this way because this whole thread is based on an article that's in Chinese, and hasn't been translated to English? Ya think? I dunno... maybe I have a different reason.... ummm.... nope - that's it!

I wish MJ was 10 years younger....but he is the best PG on the floor most nights...so, I will take him at 38.

Also, I like the Sina posts, just would like a translation with it as well.

Sina is fine. Yang Yi, however, is to journalism what Danielle Steel is to fine literature.

While I haven't had a problem with any individual Yang Yi article, the overall effect turns one off after a while.

He's like the most fervent YOF, Francis-hating fan on this board with a bigger forum than a post.

I don't think it's because Yao has better control, it's because he's been more decisive. He wasn't dribbling around very much yesterday -- he'd get the pass, immediately get position, then put it up. It also helped that they weren't double-teaming him, since there was nobody around to strip the ball.

I wonder how much of Yao's very recent play has been because of MJ's arrival. Coincidence? Hmmm... Regardless, I think if we make some noise in the playoffs, we can convince MJ to give it one more year. Stockton played past 40 -- surely MJ can still play at 39. That would give him time to groom a replacement. Maybe then offer him a spot as an assistant if he's up for it. Good guy to have around.

I think this is the most accurate assessment about Yang-Yi.

From what I know about Yang-Yi's relationship with Yao, I believe most of the QUOTES or INCIDENTS he wrote in his reports. But he is Yao's only close friend in media. The guy makes a living writing about Yao, what can you expect from him?

You can either choose to ignore the guy, or take it with a grain of salt.

Maybe Yao was talking about Marc Jackson, the power forward, and everyone went off half-cocked thinking he was talking about Mark Jackson the PG? :p
