It has been said that come this date, the houston rockets will include Carmelo along side a few other players in attempt to trade for a small foward replacement, and or another player. Who do you think the rockets might trade for and why?
Exactly! They're already paying his salary. Might as well have him hand out towels in the locker room or something.
Knight, Chriss, EG, Melo,Nene 2 (1 if they would take it) firsts out. Porter, Morris, Satoransky in. Satoransky just took Oubre’s job. As a 6’7 versatile point guard who can create I think he would be an ideal replacement for EG because of the consistency in his game. Otto is our new wing. Morris is the back up 4/5. We add much needed length to 3 positions of need. We would finally have someone who can shoot over 40% from the wing. A legit backup 4 and small ball 5. A real creator off the bench in Satoransky who would fill MCW’s role. Second round pick or whatever for Holiday. More length added to the backcourt, defense, and still shooting around 40% from 3. Buy out market (hopefully) for Lopez? CP3/Satoransky Harden/Holiday Porter/Ennis Tucker/Morris Capela/Lopez/Morris Satoransky 6’7. Holiday 6’6 Porter 6’8 Morris 6’10 Lopez 7’0 with a 7’6 wingspan Our shooting and rebounding would improve ten fold. Our defense would become a top 2 or 3 defense in the nba IMO. Maybe most importantly is the fact that we would be a legit 10 to12 deep. Our vets would be able to rest and we would still slaughter teams. Our entire second unit would be filled with guys who can actually play at well above average clip on both ends of the floor. Our bench could leap from the worst in the nba to one of the best. That team is better than last year’s. GG and Clark would get spot minutes. Hartenstein would have more time to develop. EG must be sacrificed if we want to maximize this current window of opportunity. EG must be sacrificed for the sake of depth. EG must be sacrificed if we truly want to get our vets rest in the regular season. EG must be sacrificed to atone for the sins committed by Morey during this past off-season. I don’t see how else we can truly improve enough to win it all unless we make a radical change to the current roster, without totally dismantling our core of Harden, CP, Clint, and Tuck. Washington rids themselves of Porter’s Contract. Morey becomes a hero and all is forgiven. Houston wins the championship! We can still do this Morey.

There will be no December 15 trade. There will be no trade this season that adds any salary. There will be at least one trade that sheds salary at the cost of assets/prospects.

GO Rockets!!
I hope the Nets will take Chriss for D. Carroll. That may require a 2nd rounder to be added. Does that work cap wise Apache? Addendum: Oops, I didn't realize that Carroll's contract equalled Knight's.
Here you can see all the low level contracts the Rockets have don’t complete the deal. You would need to send out Tucker in place. Right now I don’t think the Rockets want to send out Nene. https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7138519 Not a problem saleem.
Carrol and Vonkeh would be a good pickups. DC plays solid defense and has good size. Vonleh is in the mold of Anderson but is much more confident as evidenced by his 45% from 3. Honestly I think we need to get a player like Morris, though. People are focused on the SF position but Tucker can’t man the 4 all by himself. We need another 3/4 player that knows how to rebound, play defense and occasionally step out to the arc for a 3. This lineup needs size.
I agree with you. I was looking at teams struggling that will lose players in free agency this summer. Markief Morris is tops on my list because I think the Rockets need another combo SF/PF.....but I could get the trade to match without sending Nene. I’m not sure Washington will take back Nene and I’m not sure Houston will send him out. Hartenstein is serviceable vs second stringers, but the Pistons showed how to attack that by keeping Drummond in vs Hartenstein while Capela was resting. Nene helps against the big thug centers in the league. I’m not against Morris expiring contract coming our way.....3-team action possibly. Edited: plus Washington may have righted their ship as well and are buyers now......not sellers.
Melo isn’t going anywhere he doesn’t want to go b/c of Chris Paul. I’m more hopeful we can move MCW, Chriss and maybe night (largest salary available to trade)
